personally I'd hold off - these things are so prone to failure, have already had 2 sets repaired by apple due to the crackle sound. not rough on them, they just crap out... see the recall program

1) For me, yes because transparency mode is a game changer
2) Not at all, and I'm pretty sensitive to that particular issue.

Btw there is a FP deal right now on a really good case for these from Catalyst

As long as you get ones manufactured after Oct 2020 that isn't an issue anymore. I doubt Amazon would be selling stock that old.

Love my pros for phone calls and the gym . But they've been around the 200 mark constantly on sale since late last year I rarely see them full price at 250
