I have this exact monitor, panel is great, the base does sticks out quite a bit and you can't adjust up and down only tilt. But to be fair it's hard to find a 144hz IPS 2k monitor at this price.

Tip: this monitor can do 144hz over HDMI but you need to use port 2

So I've been using a 32 inch QHD 165Hz VA panel for work and gaming, which cost me $330. I love it. My work recently provided me with a $1k 32 inch 4K IPS monitor, and I'm using the two side by side. I have to say I prefer the VA by quite a bit. The IPS is much dimmer, even though they are both rated for the same brightness level. Why would I spend 3 times as much for a monitor that seems objectivity worse for both productivity and gaming?

Someone please tell me what I'm missing, I feel like I'm taking crazy pills over here.

Great specs for Xbox Series S. Can't speak for PS5 as I don't have one.

Have you been able to do 1440p 120hz with this monitor with Xbox Series S/X? I have this monitor and it has not worked for me. Only worked with 1440p60Hz or 1080p120Hz.

yeah i had a chance a couple of months ago to buy this monitor from BB for like 190$ but it sold out very quick too. great deal at that time. this price is okay compare to it. actually would have bought it then but i had just gotten a lg 1080 144hz monitor for 150ish. this would have come out to ~220 after tax and recycle fees. one other thing to consider too is that this is 1400p at 144hz. you would need a powerful GPU to push that frame rate to make use of full potential. knowing the GPU market now, it would be ridiculously expensive. a deal on a monitor but the graphic card would be ~1000$.

Is there a reason to OC to 160mhz? I'm not being sarcastic, I'm still figuring out modern monitors. Thanks?

Yeah I mean you can get 16 more frames that's the only thing that comes to my mind. This is a good deal though. 1440p 144hz is the sweet spot still for gaming with the 3 series GPUs

I remember paying $650 for a monitor back in 2015 with the same specs.

The only area I can imagine the 4k IPS monitor being more useful is in photography work. You'll be able to see more details in smaller photos and the colors will generally be more accurate. For casual productivity work or gaming, 1440p VA works just fine for most people.

This if you want to use it for gaming, the monitor you linked is 60hz. My son's monitors are 75hz and mine are 165hz. I used to think the difference would be marginal, but it really looks buttery smooth if you can take advantage of it with a good video card.
