I was going to buy this lastnight, but my cc is full ' ish Smilie
Bought a Gigabyte laptop six year ago with 2-year warranty. The motherboard fried after 2 years. Gigabyte asked $460 for motherboard replacement. Have to throw away the laptop. Never had a fried laptop motherboard. I am done with Gigabyte.
This is a 85W RTX 3080 with another 20W with Dynamic Boost; so, up to 105W. However, as per the testing, it hardly reaches over 90W during Gaming where both CPU and GPU are being stressed and thanks to that power hungry 10th Gen Comet Lake CPU. 105W is just a theoretical value, only possible during synthetic benchmarks and GPU only loads.
The Legion 5 Pro's 140W RTX 3070 beats this RTX 3080 in majority of games or performs similarly in certain very high GPU demanding games.

I will also not pick up this laptop because if you go over that 32GB Ram, there are plenty of other option available. Using the 10% email registration coupon, you can get the Alienware m15 R4 with same CPU, 32GB Ram and a 140W RTX 3080, at almost same price...the deals have been posted here multiple times. That has better CPU performance, far superior GPU performance, way better build quality than this plasticky design and Thunderbolt 3.

How's Gigabyte cooling and build quality?

Haven't had the best luck with Gigabyte PC components.

Currently have a gigabyte notebook. Definitely say overall its nice but keys on the keyboard as very easily damaged and reboots on its own way often then any of my other notebooks, other then that pretty much happy with it. Cooling is nice but definitely not something to brag about.

Quote from Redflyer :
Pretty expensive for a non-QHD screen, a 8GB VRAM 3080, no mux switch, thermal throttling and fan issues. This is a failed Gigabyte design that they have been using for the last few years. Good thing is there's a sucker born every minute and Gigabyte hopes you're one of them.
Read post #3. it has a MUX switch.
I don't agree with your statement. Watch the video.

WOOPS, didn't realize this was a 3080, not 2080. Nice laptop!

I have two of these laptops. They blue screen nonstop under normal load. Fans are very loud. Gigabyte control center sucks.
Runs COD well though. Build quality is good.

I wonder how it compares to my 140watt TGP RTX 3070 Legion since this is a MAXQ
