$194 was the lowest price ever for this (IIRC), but that was back before RP added 3GB to the old 5GB plan to create this one.

Best price for this newer 8GB plan was ~$204; could be coming around again in a month or so, certainly for BF. Maybe lower, even.

Also, just saw first ever RP TV commercial, could be going world-class (or at least trying to).

.
Go with Mint which uses T-Mobile towers. If you buy the annual plan, it'll cost you $15/month for 4GB, unlimited text and talk. I would go with Mint anytime (unless you have issues with T-Mobile coverage in your area).
How do you do that?

It's fine until something goes wrong. I'm on Verizon.

Stopped being able to make calls of any kind. Got hold of them via chat and they seemingly fixed it but it didn't last. Been down for 4 days so far. Data works fine.

No chat after hours. They don't respond to email. When they do, it's a day later with a canned response to restart the phone, then they go silent again for days.

When you do get a hold of chat, they make you wait 10+ minutes to get someone on chat. Spent a solid two hours on chat today and they still can't fix it. Even changed sim to another phone and still can't make calls. They had to call Verizon and still can't fix it. They finally said they are making upgrades and to try again in 2 hours. 2 hours later, still broken and of course, chat is closed now and no reply on email.

They tell you to do a bunch of steps that don't apply because they are using Google to search and referencing old versions of Android or Android that does not apply to your model of phones.

Update:

Finally got my problem with outgoing calls resolved today after spending another hour on chat. Something about problems with me having a 5G phone which had been working for half a year. I had to put the sim card into a non 5G phone for them to re-provision the service, wait an hour for an update, put the sim back into my 5G phone, wait for it to re-provision again, and it finally worked.

I doubt I would have had to do this if I was a direct Verizon customer. As I said, it's great when it works and awful when something goes wrong. That's the price you have to pay to go with any MVNO.

On the plus side, I got an automatic upgrade to 8 gb even though I bought the 7 gb plan. I also got a free upgrade to Verizon 5G Nationwide which is not the truly fast 5G. Went from 45 Mbit to 90 Mbit. Really meaningless if you have a data cap or not in the coverage area but the latency is suppose to be faster.

Worth it if you are not using your phone for something critical and have a backup phone. Stay away if you are using your phone for business or if it's your only phone.

This competes with the att $300 a year plan with the caveats that there is no mexico/Canada roaming and there is no rollover. I can get this for $275 with target games but if eBay won't give taxes back now this is only $30-35 less than att native so not really a good deal if you like the additional perks and the purportedly higher priority att native service is than mvno. I say maybe but I can say my att prepaid is just as fast as my att postpaid all the time.
No roaming period with Red Pocket bud (domestic or international).

I have to switch my yahoo mobile within a few days... but looking more for something that is unlimited calls and texts, BUT not unlimited data... because I would be fine probably with just 1gb or maybe even less and want to save some money, so trying to figure out the cheapest reliable company and plan without unlimited data (but some data included).
Go with tello stack social offer for one year of service with 1GB data for like $67. It's a great deal if you want minimal data.

You can try Liberty Wireless. They use T-Mobile network. There's no visual voicemail if you are looking for that.

I thought that is what I said. That is why att prepaid for 30-40 bucks more has more value. For me Mexico and Canada roaming needed so att prepaid is the bomb, but for domestic only there are more options and you can shave a few bucks. However to get those savings I need to buy att prepaid cards when they are discounted to avoid taxes.

Good deal. Thanks.

Question, is there a way to pause the service for, let's say 3 months? I usually go live abroad about 3-4 months every year so pausing the service is much needed.

Currently I have been using Textnow for this exact reason but T-Mobile signal is very weak where I live comparing to ATT.
No, you can't. You have keep continue paying to avoid loosing your number.

Just added that you will get $10 credit every 30days for international calling with redpocket.
Isn't international calling included for many countries in red pocket plans?

Yeah that sucks. I live near the Canada border and like to drive across once in a while pre-pandemic and would like to have data for GPS, messaging apps, yelp, etc., but RP global plan must be used on a Sprint device, and my phone is GSM. Or else $9 add-on for 1GB /30 days in Canada is a pretty good deal. The cheapest SIM I can find to order ahead of time to use for data in Canada is $30.

Hope RP can have a Global Plan for GSM phones in the future!

I'm still on the old T-Mobile $30/mo. 3GB, 100 text, 100 min. plan. This seems better. Thoughts?
You could check T-Mobile pre-paid plans. They start at $15 for 2.5Gb of data and unlimited minutes and texts I believe

I have 3 RP phones, all were a hassle to activate, the 3rd still doesn't work. The 2 that do work are fine and an amazing price.
Difficult to work with.

The Net10 wireless plan is better IMO since it does have roaming included (I purchased the Net10 AT&T plan myself a few weeks back when it was $150 on here). No domestic roaming is a major deal breaker for me personally. (Read section 10)

I assume if I use a referral code I then have to pay for the 1 year before getting the $10 from referral, though.

calling many popular (big population) is free. But calling some countries are not, i.e. Japan. It is 9 cents per minute calling Japan mobile line. So the credits are really useful in this situation.

I loved rp with android on att. Only place I had any issues was at my parents, only sprint works there. I just switched back to sprint (free line) and will see what happens in the next year. Had it not been for getting the free line I would have stayed with rp, not sure what I would do if I lived at my parents however.
Sprint's been gone for almost a year now
