$194 was the lowest price ever for this (IIRC), but that was back before RP added 3GB to the old 5GB plan to create this one.

Best price for this newer 8GB plan was ~$204; could be coming around again in a month or so, certainly for BF. Maybe lower, even.

Also, just saw first ever RP TV commercial, could be going world-class (or at least trying to).

.
Go with Mint which uses T-Mobile towers. If you buy the annual plan, it'll cost you $15/month for 4GB, unlimited text and talk. I would go with Mint anytime (unless you have issues with T-Mobile coverage in your area).
How do you do that?

Theoretically all fees and taxes are included in rp price and eBay blindly charges taxes on everything so if your state doesn't charge tax on prepaid services you can go back to eBay tax department and request a refund of the sales tax. Now I did this last year but maybe something changed as another poster said they were unsuccessful.
I am currently with RP on month to month plan. RP charged me taxes and fee on top of the monthly plan. So the monthly plan is not including taxes and fee in CA. Perhaps another state does not charge taxes and fee on cell phone plans or has a different rate in charging the taxes and fees. Overall, I am paying about 8.6% on taxes and fees which is less than the sales tax in CA.

It works when it works. When it comes to the service de-prioritization, cellular data is virtually unusable.

Yes. Typically, the most severe data deprioritization is on MVNOs using the Verizon network,.

Have always has good experiences with RP GSMA on Android unlocked phones. Boston and Hartford, CT. I've never experienced deprioritization issues but I'm not a power LTE user. CDMA-V on my wife's unlocked iPhone XR was, otoh, horrible.

just an FYI check out Us mobile they have a lot of different plans I have been with them for a couple of weeks so far so good very reasonable price
This. We switched to US Mobile a couple of months ago from Cricket. We signed up 4 lines on their Unlimited All plan. Paying $25/line plus they reimburse our Spotify Family and Disney+/Hulu/ESPN+ combo monthly subscriptions. They call their reimbursement program "perks". Support has been excellent so far with 24x7 online chat.

I see a Red Pocket front page ad and I feel a sense of duty to warn others of our experience. If you care about sending messages with your phone service, avoid Red Pocket at all cost. It is well-documented in previous posts and in our experience that RP will shut down your text messaging without warning because they claim it is being overused. They refer you to their terms of service, which they claim gives them the right to do so at any time they want for any reason they want. They won't tell you how many is too many, but from anecdotal evidence, it is somewhere in the range of more than 8 messages in a minute, which is easy to do in group messaging. Their unlimited messaging is not unlimited! Avoid RP at all cost if you care at all about messaging.

If you live in a state that charges sales tax, ebay will tax this transaction even though they arent supposed to...because all taxes and fees are supposed to be included in this plan. Last year when I ordered these, I just used a fake address in a state without sales tax. Red pocket sends you the code via ebay message anyway - and the only thing they actually mail you is a postcard with nothing on it. (Note that this only works for renewals if you already have a RP sim, if you dont, you'd need to use a real address to get that sim)
So how do you get the sim card of they don't mail it to you?

Theres a special for the NEW customers ...what is the actual price after that ???
You have to prepay - for 12 months you get the 3 month special. So 1st 3 months I paid $45, next 12 months I paid $180. It's a steal and the service is decent along most of my commute. Text, no problem. None of the drop off fail to pick up call that I had with VIsible. Mint seems to be over their growing pains.

I have to switch my yahoo mobile within a few days... but looking more for something that is unlimited calls and texts, BUT not unlimited data... because I would be fine probably with just 1gb or maybe even less and want to save some money, so trying to figure out the cheapest reliable company and plan without unlimited data (but some data included).
Prepaid Plan Finder: https://prepaidcompare.net/
Just set the minutes and texts to a really high number like 50K and it will show plans with unlimited minutes and texts. Then just set the amount of data you want.

why in the world are there different cell tower providers listed for the same companies? for instance red pocket says tmobile, verizon, AND at&t on different listings. Also, I am not sure if I should do any of this anyway because most of these companies who sue other providers' towers are just random people running them, not reliable companies, so may have to just pay more and go directly through a known provider... I was going to do the 1 year tello for under $70 deal, but then read tons of people saying their service is bad.

MVNO's like US Mobile, Red Pocket, TracFone, etc. have agreements with tier 1 cell providers (Verizon and T-Mobile for example on US Mobile). This allows the MVNO to give its customers a choice which provider to choose during sign up.

I'm still on the old T-Mobile $30/mo. 3GB, 100 text, 100 min. plan. This seems better. Thoughts?
$30 for your plan seems high compared to what else is available for cheaper.

I've been with red pocket for at least 4 years and have had excellent experience. The only time I ran into issues was when I switched to Verizon mvno. However, their At&T and TMobile has worked great for my family.
