250 nits is adequate enough for indoor uses however colors on these units are washed out as compared to the 100%sRGB displays.

My older dad wants a laptop. He went to BB and fiddled with this one and liked it (size is good and it is fast). That's all he really cares about. Good screen (he has some eye issues), web browsing, email, MS Office work, that's it.
