I thought just the opposite. I found it to be one of the lowest brightness displays at Costco (cranked them all up to max first), though like most touch-screens the glossy reflective screen looks good at first glance. If you have any light sources behind you (windows, lamps) or a bright room in general, it becomes hard to use. The Lenovo matte non-touch displays are probably the best I've seen of the ~250-nit displays of what Costco carries. Some users have noted the bad colors on the Lenovos, but loading the screen color profile made a huge difference.

You will only notice this if you have used a better display, like 300 nits or more and 100% sRGB.

250 nits is adequate enough for indoor uses however colors on these units are washed out as compared to the 100%sRGB displays.

How would this laptop compare to this one?

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/dell...Id=6432553

My older dad wants a laptop. He went to BB and fiddled with this one and liked it (size is good and it is fast). That's all he really cares about. Good screen (he has some eye issues), web browsing, email, MS Office work, that's it.

Any help is appreciated.

Between this and the $500 Lenovo what do you think ? It's for my mom. Only use is basic web and YouTube and video chat.
