I love mine.. made 20 bux last week, helped someone change a flat tire.. they were so grateful they gave me 20 bux.. i was like a nascar pit crew out there.. threw my hydraulic jack under neath, told the guy to pump it up while i hit the lugs..

It's really no big deal to register for the Lifetime Service Agreement and it's all done online: https://register.ridgidpower.com/

Where some people get into trouble is not doublechecking after a few weeks to make sure it went through correctly. But even if it doesn't, it is super easy to rectify through their online chat or an email.

It's a standard 3-year warranty if you don't register for the LSA.

Try using an Octane battery on it. I think I just saw a video showing it as the most powerful cordless 1/2" impact with a 3ah Octane battery but only about half the performance with a 2ah traditional pack.
This is definitely NOT "the most powerful" impact. I THINK you got confused with high torque model (1500ft-lb breakaway torque - model R86211)

That said, I have this one and on 4ah Octane battery (I have 4 and 6ah Octane battery), I never had any issues with my lugnuts and I really never need to use 6ah battery.

Not even close to the same product for comparison. This is meant for high torque applications, not driving screws/lags like an impact driver does.

I love this tool. I don't know why I'm thinking I should buy it again when I already have it. It's a stupid impulse
if you duel wield them you can do a task twice as fast. Changing my zero turn blades can go from 45 seconds to 20 seconds.

Brushless tools respond very well to larger size bats and do provide more power. My drill [homedepot.com] is a different animal with 4ah bat. Same with my subcompact [homedepot.com]. The new ridgid subcompacts are rated at 225 lbs nut removal with a 2ah bat. With a 6ah it has 450lbs of removing tq. Just helping to find another reason to buy this.

Fyi, Direct tools has a factory blemish one right now for $24 less than this. Blemished tools are eligible for the LSA program.

There is no 4ah Octane battery. Only 3/6/9ah.
