This is a fast drive. I use it regularly and no complaints. Newegg charges sale tax, so the total for me would be $200. B&H charges $219 with no tax - so this is a better deal.

GOOD deal! Close to 4TB SD Ultra 3D NAND scooped last year for $360. Really makes X1X load times feel nimble.

Speed. It's not the fastest like the T7. Just google it.

Had the 500gb T5 in blue for a few years. It's been great as a production media drive for lightroom & final cut but it is noticable slower at times than having the files on the os drive

I have the t7 1tb and it runs really hot. It hasn't caused me any issues but just putting that out there.

That means for moving a few massive files, the T7 Touch just flies; it's crazy fast. However, both the Samsung T5 and the T7 Touch have the same performance when it comes to random reads and writes. Well, they are much closer than with sequential reads and writes. That means when you're moving large amounts of small files, they'll be similar in performance.
