Snyder went back and regraded the entire movie from what everyone got with the first Blu-ray/UHD. The IMAX scenes have been restored to their proper ratio for the first time.

So the presentation in 4K this time is improved for Snyder's aesthetic and more refined. The colors now match up better with Snyder's Cut of Justice League. A new commentary by Snyder is also included.

There seems to be come confusion of people thinking this is the SnyderCut or Zack Snyder's Justice League. For those of you who are wondering, BatmanVSuperman: Dawn of Justice- Ultimate Edition is the 3 hour cut to the film that was released in theaters back in March 2016, THIS IS NOT THE SNYDERCUT A.K.A. ZACK SNYDER'S JUSTICE LEAGUE!!!!! Back in March 2016, Warner Bros. Chopped up and had Snyder trim down the runtime down to 2 hours and 33 mins, this Ultimate edition was released in July 2016 with an additional half an hour of run time, that really helps out the plot of the film, and shows more motivation of Clark Kent, Bruce Wayne, and Lois Lane. This version of the film also helps understand Lex Luthor's genius plan in a more detailed way too, and how he was pitting Batman and Superman along the whole time. Fast word to this version, when Zack Snyder was set to release "Zack Snyder's Justice League", he was allowed permission to color correct, and put the IMAX scenes in a 4:3 Aspect ratio, which would make the IMAX scenes that were widescreen in the past release, seem bigger and more closer to an IMAX aspect ratio. It's the same film from July 2016, but with color correction, and a 4:3 aspect ratio, for the scenes that were filmed for IMAX. Zack Snyder's Justice League comes out in September 2021, so that's a movie you will have to pre-order. I recommend ordering both because I personally think they're both masterpieces. Oh, and #RestoreTheSnyderVerse!

I have the Blu Ray that came out several years ago and have since purchased an OLED TV & 4K Player. Beyond the uptick in quality, is there a benefit to getting this version (extra content, etc.)?

Head's up. Don't think this is the Snyder Cut. Snyder cut is like 4 hrs long. There was already an Extended cut around initial release. This seems to be that, but in 4k

The Snyder Cut is the new version of Justice League. This 4K Bluray is for the Batman v. Superman movie, and is the new Ultimate Edition, which was released the same time as the Justice League Snyder Cut, back in March.

I thought imax scenes just filled the whole screen instead of having black bars on top and bottom?

For those that are used to 1080p bluray disks included in the UHD blurays they buy, note that this package does NOT include a 1080p bluray, there is ONLY a UHD disk and a digital code with this release.

I have an IMAX enhanced Sony TV and i don't think it does a lick of difference. It is not some setting you turn on or off. I think it is like saying THX certified.
