It doesn't look like there are any cars available for these dates at this location. Does anyone know how you might go about getting a rental car?

Are rental cars still a thousand dollars per week, or has that settled down?

Edit: Expedia shows a Kia Soul (a terrible vehicle) available for $732 per week. Midsized SUVs going for $900 per week.

Rent an RV. Transportation and lodging together. We did this several years ago.

I went there early Summer and used my free days for most of the trip. I did pay close to $150 per day for the last 2 days for a RAV4. It is expensive but looks like it is getting better. You DEFINITELY need a car in Anchorage.

I remember reading where people were renting u-haul pick up trucks at $20 per day (not sure if that includes mileage).

Fly me there in an Otter floatplane and you've got a deal. That sounds awesome.

Unfortunately, RV prices are also quite inflated at the moment. It is a great way to travel through Alaska though. You could always get a Uhaul!

Agree. Did it just 2 weeks ago. Worked much better than a rental car

There should be more deals with American, JetBlue, and Delta all trying to expand there.

I would imagine at this point rv spots are taken. Did you have trouble finding spots to park at night?

not back when we took out trip. We planned at least 6 months in advance. You can also park for free O/N at most Walmarts.
