YMMV .. Just got an Amazon Treasure Truck text that the Breville Joule Sous Vide in White is 39% off @ 149.99.

I don't know if everyone gets the same deal or not so YMMV.

If you are looking a for a new Sous Vide this is a good read;
https://www.seriouseats.com/best-...irculators

I have had a handful of machines but found that the Anova (AN500-US00) best fit my needs. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WQ4M...RNE1XYNHAY

The Anova can run just off the controls on the unit and/or wifi via their app.

Right now there is a handful of Amazon Warehouse listings of the 1,000 watt Anova for $150 vs the $200 list price.

Lowest price that this has ever been is 119.40, the price averages around 220. It was at this price for prime day so this is a good opportunity for those that missed it. I decided to buy this one as a 2nd unit just because I was on the fence during prime day so at least I have one for the kitchen and one for grilling now. Definitely recommend the Joule over the Anova. It's lighter, slimmer and performs just as well, if not better, I'm sure you'll see the same in reputable review sites. Apps are comparable, just wish the Joule came in a darker color like black. It's extremely quiet and has a magnetic bottom which is a big difference you're not using plastic containers. Even when I do use the plastic containers, I've started to use a metal cooling rack underneath as well. I did get mine (Stainless Steel version) for $120 on AMZ but I don't remember if it was a price drop or coupon. May also have been priced lower at other retailers but this is still a really good deal. This also may be a good reference for those looking to make a decision between the Joule and the Anova Pro. https://youtu.be/hUE7SQ_4whQ

Sous Vide: game changer for chicken breasts, fish and pork chops/loin.

I've had an Anova for many years and it's great. I also use it to make "cold brew" coffee.

Can you share how you make cold brew with the sous vide?

I pretty much follow this recipe on the Anova web site [anovaculinary.com], so it's done in about two hours. Similar recipes on the web may vary on the time and temp a bit.

It's not really "cold brew" where you leave it at room temperature for a day, but this does a fairly good job. Mainly, I use this method when I have a bunch of old/stale coffee beans.

I had one for 5 years and the motor finally pooped out, but it was great. For one, it's tiny compared to most similar devices. Also, the app functionality is great and it has some really good recipes built in. It's nice to be able to start the bath from the grocery store.
