who recommended the jamos for a "similar" price? maybe regular price? because the cheapest i could find right now was easily 2x the cost, lol.
and the guy complaining about these not having bass, like..look at the given frequency response range, what were you expecting?
anyway, haters aside, this is a great deal, op! and, as another poster noted, there's comparable pricing at other retailers, for those of us who don't want to support amazon

for me though, i already own these but have been looking at the atmos add-on speakers..but even at half price (<$100), seems i still can't justify the price difference for the add-ons from the pair of Pioneer SP-BS22A-LR i got on sale for $130 ($130-minus these core speakers for $73 is $57), which are bookshelf plus atmos built into the tops.
still looking for another pair of those for around the $130 on sale i bought them for, but they seem to be maybe sold out everywhere and/or discontinued.. :'(
What were you comparing it to?

SSCS5 is by far the best value and highly recommended! The SSCS3 are also very nice, but hard to justify almost 3x increase for them over the SSCS5. The Atmos are also very nice if used as overhead speakers. I can NOT recommend the subwoofer at all though. Not mentioned above, but the center channel in this series is also a bit weak for the price.
The SSCSE Atmos speakers mount very nicely above the SSCS3 speakers and have a keyhole mount for wall mounting. Wall mounting didn't do much at all for me other than increasing the front soundstage
For a relatively low cost, these speakers make a great setup. They won't compare to the $1000+ speakers out there, but they're still very much usable and enjoyable for a small fraction of the price. I've got a 7.1.4 setup with these and love them.
