I've bought many suboptimal products in the past just to realize that I should have just paid more for the best all-around performer. For example, the Pixel Slate i3 (2019) deal from Best Buy was exactly that. The screen was beautiful and the sound is good but the keyboard case died (known issue) and Google doesn't make enough killer apps like Apple. I hate that I sound like an Apple fan-boy right now.
I understand. This isn't what I want in a full featured laptop, but as a secondary device, that screen is awesome, and the device is amazingly well built. Plus it has a built in pen. It's a unique device.

So glad this deal came up! Was bummed about missing the Best Buy Acer deal. This is so much better for $20 more. (With cash back makes it actually cheaper!)

Can confirm ID.me wasn't working so I followed someone else's advice to setup a new Samsung account with .edu email and it worked perfectly. Thanks!

4k Streaming on laptops is really something most places would rather you not do.
Thats not the point. Arbitrary restrictions and limitations are the real problem with a device meant for light computing and media consumption.

How is general day to day tasks with 4K resolution on a 13 inch screen? I mean how do you see anything. Isn't everything tiny?

What is the battery life on this machine? Still rocking a Dell Chromebook 13, but it is time time for an upgrade.

They scale it well. Better than Windows, I'd say. Can't comment on Android apps, though.

the screen is not great as you thought. Although it is 4k, you can see the pixels and the color calibration is a bif off for this screen. But for this price, it is still a very good screen.
The "pixels" you are seeing is the digitizer layer which is a little disappointing on such a beautiful screen.

I got the android notification alert about the deal about 15 minutes too late. The deal was active for 2 hours before I saw it. Oh well

It's more like Linux on top of ChromeOS unless I'm missing something (special firmware?). At least that black terminal background with white text will probably keep the battery life going for hours because of the AMOLED. Fortunately, simple development can be done from a Chromebook because of the cloud.
I'm not sure about how Linux is supported on a Chromebook either. A shell/terminal window should be enough for me though. A lot of WFH tasks can literally be done with a shell window and the remote cluster can do the rest of them.
