Bought one a couple weeks ago when it was 140. I challenge anyone to find a phone of this quality for this price brand new. One of the commenters said it was slow. I disagree, it's running Android 11, and doesn't seem to be any slower than my Galaxy S10. For the person wanting to get back into Android phones, this is the perfect opportunity to get a flagship from a couple generations ago for cheap. Bummer that there is no headphone jack, and the top and bottom bezel are larger than the newer model phones, but that leaves good amount of space for the stereo speakers on top and bottom, they are better than any other phone I've ever had. Again, I want to point out that this is running Android 11, and even though it is not being updated any further, it's amazing to get Android 11 for this price.
Youre gonna be downgrading if you're swapping to this

Thanks... even though I can switch on the option in developer options it seems this phone is locked:

mintyd@mycomputer ~/android/platform-tools $ ./fastboot flashing unlock
FAILED (remote: 'Flashing Unlock is not allowed
')
fastboot: error: Command failed
mintyd@mycomputer ~/android/platform-tools $ ./fastboot flashing get_unlock_ability
(bootloader) get_unlock_ability: 0
OKAY [ 0.001s]
Finished. Total time: 0.001s
mine unlocked bootloader with no issues. lineage install was quick. just to ask, you enabled the oem unlock in developer options? you may need to connect to wifi network to let the date / time auto update.

Can you please give a link for the steps you used to install lineage?

You've probably done this already, but check that the Default USB Configuration under Developer Options is set to File transfer / Android Auto. The setting on mine changed at some stage and I could not longer connect via ADB and flashboot.

I'm returning the one I got for my kid, Chrome doesn't work. doesn't open URLs, and Play Store won't start downloads. It's an unusual but known problem and standard fixes don't work. Since it has a lithium battery I had to email Woot to start the return process, and now I'm kind of at their mercy... will they return the email or not? Funny is that I ordered another one when his arrived and before he told me about the bug, now I'm wondering about that one which hasn't arrived yet.

That's unfortunate. Did you do a factory reset? Mine came with Android 8 so I performed a factory reset after each update. The last update gave all sorts of issues so I did another factory reset and that seemed to fix the issue.

Thanks for the reply. His came with 9 and he did the updates without resetting in between. (I've never done a reset after an update.) He was in the process of resetting it when I contacted Woot. We found a thread where someone says that factory resetting it only fixed theirs temporarily -- but that seems to be a rare case. My kid is going to finish the reset and we'll see if it works.

This info is new and interesting to me.
Yes, I still use a flip phone and a Note 3, and a S10
Would you happen to have a link to where I can learn all this without clogging up the topic?
I need to get an additional phone that's not carrier specific, and more than likely prepaid.
My work made me install their app on my S10 (that I paid for, but I had no choice to do it if I want to stay in my very nice job) and this app is telling them everything I do on the phone.
Can't toggle anything off like most of the apps.
None of the old flip phones will function after 3G is shut down. How soon depends on your carrier. Unless they extend it again, ATT is Feb 2022, TMO is Apr 2022, VER by end of 2022 (google "3g shut down"). I expect service is going to get worse as we get closer to these dates. If you like the flip phone style, there are new flip phones that support VoLTE (e.g. LG Classic Flip), they all run on some minimal Android version though. As long as a phone has VoLTE support, it will work fine.

If you don't want an extra smartphone and just concerned about mixing work/personal usage, Android has a feature called a work profile: https://support.google.com/work/a...er/6191949

You can still use old 2g phone on T-Mobile after that.

Your comment is timely.
Ironically, I've gotten letters from VZ and ATT about my devices not working in the future.
Sad really.
My Note 3 has been fantastic. Rivaling my spouses I8. No battery issues, no signal issues, no nothing.
My flip phone is still my go to device for actual voice conversation while working though the day.
That reason is how I got a flip phone, and that reason remains. Oh, and because it doesn't have a camera, I can carry it into places I can't take a smart phone.
Yeah, it has led to some interesting conversations with security centers the last year or two.

Thanks for the link.

Everyone that was having regrets about not buying the mint phone should be happy they got this one instead. The Mint phone was advertised as new, but not a single new phone was received. All refurbs. Mine came in a Mint box with some RED 3rd party charger and no Google paperwork. Screen looks brand new, but I have no clue about the battery on a 3+ year old phone. I'm getting around 3 hours of screen time playing a simple Star Trek game down to 45% afterwards. So just Ok. Pretty smooth. It's a replacement for my OnePlus 7T that I dropped from the 2nd floor and I'm waiting for a new screen to come in before I can operate. That phone has a slightly bigger battery, but it was new from the B&H deal a few months ago and lasts longer.

I understood what you meant, I think: Verizon carrier unlocked but bootloader locked. How is a Verizon carrier unlocked one different from a standard Pixel 2 XL? I don't care about the bootloader.
