That's probably a shipping weight. A normal 3-person tent would be maybe 5 pounds, this is listed as over 2x that. Maybe those awning poles are steel? That could be it.

Seems like a great deal if you're homeless and need to hide out of sight. Breaks my heart seeing the camping section at Walmart in California mainly catering to the homeless. Might pick up one to donate.

I think all of these critiques are valid, I got this for my son to set up in the woods behind the house for giggles basically. The camo look and the awning are neat features for a backyard tent for a kid I think, but I agree there are probably better designs if you want to do any sort of real camping in it.

That one is a good tent, only 5.5 lbs or so, but definitely not a 3 person, unless it's one adult and two small children.

We set this up yesterday. Assembly is a bit more cumbersome to me than a typical small dome tent, but no big deal. Size is as expected. Can easily sleep two adults, or 3 if they're kids or you want to sleep like sardines of course. Overall I like it quite a bit. Just got it as a backyard tent for my son, not expecting something long term durable or great for bad weather.
