This is the same deal posted by JBravo in June that has returned. The description is copied from his post as he explains the headphones very well.
Newegg has the Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro headphones on sale for $469 (599-130 promotion code)
$130 off w/ promo code 93XRD58, limited offer for next 17 hours
Pretty good price on these as they are normally $599 and I believe occasionally are on sale for $500.
These are an open backed headphones, so others around you will be able to hear what you are. Also you can hear what is going on around you, so you want to use these in a quiet private environment.
These are 250 ohm headphones so they will need a headphone amp to power these. (Lots of good options for around $99)
There are hundreds of reviews on these excellent headphones
They feature stunning resolution and soundstage with sparkling highs, tight bass and detail retrieval that make it a great value for money for those looking for audiophile headphones that sound great with all types of music.
Only downside to these headphones are to those which are sensitive to highs. I currently have the DT 990 250 ohm version and I am going to upgrade to these. My use is for FPS shooter gaming to really utilize their positional accuracy along with some music listening.

I own both and personally like the DT1990's sound signature by itself more even but to me overall the Elegia is the clear winner in headphones I grab first. Full Disclosure I paid LESS for my DT1990 new directly from Beyerdynamic + Dekoni Elite Velours than I did for my $400+ tax Elegia by almost $100, so I would say price isn't really a factor.
