Anyone know what the power usage might be? The manual says to look at the rating plate on the side of the unit... I'm just looking for a unit that my 5500 watt generator can handle during hurricane power outages.

Also, is over-sizing an issue? I see that this is for rooms up to 500sqft. I'll probably use it in a 200sqft room. Not sure if it should be more appropriately sized. Thx!

Looks like it's more efficient compared to the single hose unit I have

Quite a few reviews state this AC disintegrates itself due to misaligned fan.

I think most of these issues occur due to damage in shipping. These units are heavy and not really packaged for UPS shipping and handling. The packaging was designed for them to be riding on a pallet, not several loading/unloading and handling cycles. These should really ship by truck freight.

If you check out Youtube, there's some not very encouraging comments there too. These portable Inverter models are all pretty new and sold under Midea, Danby and Toshiba labels.

Interesting. These inverter type units are the future of portable (and window) air conditioners. Soft-start, variable speed compressors are great features.

Anyone know how costco warranty would work with something shipped? Is it bring it in store, online and deal with shipping(?) or both?

If it breaks in a couple years (probably my luck), refund?

It definitely sounds good on paper. I've got a 3 year-old Whynter ARC-131GD, 13K btu dual hose which works 'okay'.
If I knew for sure this Costco model would cool a good amount better and quieter, I'd jump on it. I'm on the fence. Plus I've got one of those $50 off $500 coupons further tempting me.

I've got this from Costco for about a month now. It works great and much quieter and cools the room better than the one it replaced.

I use a single hose A/C in my 4th floor bedroom and it saves me a fortune on the A/C for my places as it's a pain to cool the 4th floor (and I like it extra cool to sleep).

I'd like to find a dual hose A/C instead (I can't put a window one in the window at my condo) and I'd keep the other for backup (or the other upstairs room), but the reviews aren't so hot on this one, I think I'll keep my eyes open for the next deal.

I've had this for a few weeks now, love it. The app is great. Set the schedule and forget it. It is as heavy as a fridge though. Watching the little UPS gal on my ring doorbell try to get this up my 3 porch stairs was both entertaining and gave me anxiety. Highly recommend. Yes if I was home I would have ran out to help her.

Shipping info says 73lbs, definitely not easy enough for me to be hauling up and down stairs if I wanna cool different rooms..
