I think people were hoping M1 would turn iPad into laptop replacement but it seems Apple will continue to intentionally limit the capabilities of their tablets as to not cannibalize their laptop sales.

That's great! But for most of the professionals that need the power and more specifically the applications, there's still no solution from Apple. They intentionally are holding back the capabilities of the iPad for revenue's sake and not for the betterment of the products or the users.

Yup, if the ipad pro could replace a macbook, I'd have no computers left. They would be tablets. Macbooks can run ios apps, however ipads cannot run macos. (well you can remote desktop in to anything, Windows, Linux, MacOS, etc..) Apple admitted they will not be making a touch macos running on the ipad, which stinks for us consumers.

I'm waiting for the 11 inch to go back on sale. The 13 inch when I compared them in the apple store was nice don't get me wrong. But the size and weight of the 13 made it less student friendly in my opinion.

They really need to release better software for the m1 chip. Even the 2018 a12x cant be fully used today. So if you have a 2018 model theres still no reason to upgrade unless you transfer a lot of data with the new tb4

As others have said 5th generation would be the most recent (came out two months ago today)

It is kinda confusing with the smaller ones as they did 9" then 10" then 11" is generation one when it's actually 3rd lul
