Background:
Last year I bought an iPhone through Metro. Told them not to turn it on. Waited 6 months, turned it on and still locked (tried Metro SIM and it worked). Put it in a drawer & totally forgot about it. 5 months later, still locked. Finally, 6 months after activating it, it unlocked.
