I'll take my advice from actual Vets and Chemistry PHDs instead of the internet. To each their own. Not all dogs are the same, not all dogs have same activity level.

This has nothing to with level of activity. 400kcal/cup dog food provides same level of energy whether it's 100% protein based or 100% grain based. The difference is where the calories come from. Some grain isn't bad, but I'd go with a formula that has more than just 25% protein...

like I said I'll take my actual advice from the VETs and Chemistry PHDs that I know. I would recommend everyone do the same.
