I used my Chase Freedom unlimited card to purchase this. Upon completing my order I instantly got a message from chase. I forgot I activated a Chase Offer, one was for Sams club. Spend $45 from sams club and get $10 back. So, with the $45 gift card plus the $10 back. It's actually a $10 money maker

I believe it's 6 months. My spouse and I rotate who is the primary member to get around that.

On the last $45/$45 deal, signup seemed to go through fine and I got a confirmation email and "welcome to club" with member #. However, when I went to the club a couple of weeks later to get my card, they were having problems looking up my membership.

I called up Sam's customer service and they said that my membership was revoked by then - essentially some department canceled mine, and never told me. So the membership # was showing up blank.

This was such a waste of time. Has anyone had a similar experience or know why this could happen? I used a new email address as well.

Probably depends on the state. When I joined a year ago, no tax was charged.
They didn't charge me any tax when I joined 2 days ago

You can reuse the email. They consider you new after six months I believe. So we just alternate accounts.
I tried using same email after a year without a membership it said I already have an account so I had to create a new one

This particular promo may require a new email. I have had success on some offers in the past reusing the email address.

If you use a Gmail account for your email you can add a dot anywhere in the first part of your name and it will go to your existing email as it is ignored by Gmail but will seem to be a new email for Sam's. For example [email protected] or [email protected] or [email protected] all go to [email protected]
You can also add +text at the end, example [email protected] will still come to your email [email protected].

Can you cancel the auto-renewal after becoming a member? I already have Costco membership, but want to give this a try. Thanks.

Can just a new email qualify for same address or does persons name have to differ? I use it for a prescription drug.

Sounds like the membership fee for the first year is free. Do I get it right? Thanks.

My monthly cash flow rarely shows negative while I'm in 6-month hibernation from Sam's membership, so not enrolled continually has its merits. Of course, I do stock up essential items on 12th month...

Thank you! One thing that keeps me from renewing Sirius in the car is the horror stories about canceling autorenew (if you cancel the credit card they just send you out to collections so that's not a good idea!). This is definitely worth it if there's no hassle.
