This is the same as having two 27in monitors side by side .. so it does give you the option of treating it as two monitor or one big one for things like programming.

It really is great as a work / productivity monitor as well as a bit of a bonus for gaming.
I have the 43inch version of this monitor, and it has been an absolute game changer in terms of productivity and gaming. I work tech support, and having all that horizontal real estate really helps with multitasking/ keeping an eye on multiple things at once. Gaming wise unless you're running a legit supercomputer or running older titles you'll probably have to settle for less than 120 FPS, but it's amazingly immersive regardless. I put Apex on very low settings and get around 60 FPS and it's super fun.
I've been eyeing this monitor for awhile, but honestly the 43 Inch has been so nice I may have found my personal sweet spot. I would highly recommend super ultrawides like this though!
You do you. You're forgetting returning anything to Amazon is super simple. If it comes with dead pixels or whatever, just send it back.

Warranty registration is all linked to the serial number. I had to RMA a Evo SSD a few months ago and they just used the manufacture date to determine my eligibility.

If I can save myself almost 50% to take a small risk then sure I'll do it. No one is forcing you to.

Why would one get a monitor this large over something like a 48C1?

Also just a heads up the 240hz version is 1300 dollars in the warehouse. If it's ever available with the 20 percent off deal, I would take that gamble buying used.

I have 2 32" g5s coming. Is this more wise instead of the 32"s? I have never used a curved before

I have two of G5s and very happy with it. Cannot compare with bigger screen like this, but specwise, G5 is better I think.

Im sorry but no. If im buying 1000$ monitor then im buying it new so that the warranty is good and last for a few years. Buying expensive eletronics used on amazon is just a bad idea itself. Also if your going to tell me to buy the extended warranty then i might as well just buy it new anyways.

What's everyone's opinion on dead pixels? I bought this on Prime Day and after a few days found a dead green subpixel on the left side of the panel in the middle. Backlight bleed is minimal on the monitor (with local dimming disabled to test). I know Samsung says up to 4 pixels is considered "normal" but for an expensive piece of tech... Really wish it was perfect, but maybe I'm being too picky.

I highly recommend not buying any monitors used/refurb unless you are physically there to test it out before buying. "Professional inspection" is nothing. I had a few bad experiences and never again.

Like I said before, it's rolling the die. If it was 200 dollars cheaper I would probably pass. But buying a 1700+ dollar monitor for 1000, yeah I'll take that chance considering how good Amazon's return policy is.

I have this monitor and it ROCKS. I use it for both work (looking at radiographs) and for gaming.

Total game changer in both aspects.

The only issue was dead pixels, I had to return 3 of them before I got a flawless one. Worth it though

Where did you make three returns? Did you worry they would black ball you from future returns?
