This is the same as having two 27in monitors side by side .. so it does give you the option of treating it as two monitor or one big one for things like programming.

It really is great as a work / productivity monitor as well as a bit of a bonus for gaming.

I have the 43inch version of this monitor, and it has been an absolute game changer in terms of productivity and gaming. I work tech support, and having all that horizontal real estate really helps with multitasking/ keeping an eye on multiple things at once. Gaming wise unless you're running a legit supercomputer or running older titles you'll probably have to settle for less than 120 FPS, but it's amazingly immersive regardless. I put Apex on very low settings and get around 60 FPS and it's super fun.
I've been eyeing this monitor for awhile, but honestly the 43 Inch has been so nice I may have found my personal sweet spot. I would highly recommend super ultrawides like this though!

You do you. You're forgetting returning anything to Amazon is super simple. If it comes with dead pixels or whatever, just send it back.

Warranty registration is all linked to the serial number. I had to RMA a Evo SSD a few months ago and they just used the manufacture date to determine my eligibility.

If I can save myself almost 50% to take a small risk then sure I'll do it. No one is forcing you to.

I currently have 3 24" monitors I use for work/school. How would this compare in terms of screen real estate?

Does this work with M1 Macbook Air? And does it split as 3 screens?

I'm browsing this page on one of these monitors right now. No regrets on my purchase, which was $1000 for an Amazon Warehouse like-new model about a year ago. It's excellent, but the suggested Samsung software for dividing up the screen space does not play nicely with games. I'd instead recommend DisplayFusion. I generally keep my display as a single ~FHD central screen (2564x1440) flanked by two narrow 'wing' screens (1275x1440), and it works great. I'll keep my primary application in the wide center portion, Discord or a PDF on the left, and a browser on the right.

If money is no object, I've heard the Odyssey G9 has a better curve on the monitor, but if the price of $900 is bringing this monitor barely into your strike zone, go for it. It's a great monitor.

Stellar monitor for productivity. If you spend a lot of time in Excel using wide spreadsheets, having a single massive monitor is much better than two separate monitors. Great monitor for having your IDE, Discord, browser tabs, etc. all visible when working on collaborative projects.

Laptop 1080, getting 60 FPS easily in Witcher 3 with maxed out settings, even with something like 20GB of texture/model/lighting/post-processing enhancing mods like the 4K texture packs, at full native resolution.

Ultra wide makes games much more immersive and cinematic. Multiple monitors is not even remotely the same experience. I went from 3x 27" 1440p monitors to an ultrawide 38" 1600p + 27" 1440p to the CRG9, and I'm loving the CRG9. I would like just a bit more vertical real estate, like 1600p instead of 1440p maybe, but that's about all the desires I can list. Colors are perfect, no backlight bleed, HDR is good, blacks look uniformly incredible instead of cloudy grey like they look on most monitors... I am happy even though I bought this for $1200. It's a steal at $900.

Have had this monitor for a year now. Couple observations/considerations if they help anyone...

As mentioned, this thing is huge. But what you don't notice right away is the depth of the stand. I have the token Reddit butcher block on top of IKEA Alex drawers setup. At 25" deep, this thing eats up all the depth of the desk and the stand butts up against my keyboard/mouse mat. Just make sure you have the depth for it if you're planning to use the stand.

The monitor is 120hz, however to use FreeSync AND HDR1000 while gaming, you will have to run 100hz 10-bit instead of 120hz 8-bit. You can read more on this elsewhere, but may want to research it before 120hz is your decisive feature. I personally have gamed on 10-bit 100hz HDR1000 since day one and have loved it. HDR1000 is amazing in games, even if this thing is only edge-lit.

I have an RTX 3080 graphics card. It does the job for almost everything if you're not worried about max frame rates and just want smooth play. Extremely GPU-heavy games still stay right at or above the VRR bottom end. I wouldn't imagine anything less than a 3080 is ideal for gaming on this resolution. That said, even a 3090 won't improve on this much. It was a big reason I chose to buy this monitor over the 240hz Odyssey.

If you grab one of these, also take a look at "fencing" apps like FancyZones. With this much real estate, it's amazing to set window location layouts and snap/hotkey windows to different parts of the screen. There are quite a few apps like this out there now. I can't remember the name, but at one point I was using one I could even map zones to my dedicated gaming keys on my keyboard.

Hope this is helpful to anyone considering purchasing the monitor.

I have the bigger brother of this the Samsung Odyssey G9, and I can tell you that the 240 hurts compared to 120 Hz on these monitors does not does not matter. Unless you're playing an E sports game on lower settings you're nowhere near going to hit the frame cap on the G9. You're going to have a hard time hitting the frame cap for 120.Even with DLSS In games like redeb dead redemption 2 I get between 80 to 90 fps. I can't speak for the color or the brightness compared to the G9, but if it's the same specs besides the 240 Hz refresh rate this is really worth. Is for reference I'm running it with a RTX3080 and an I79700k

I've had this monitor since late 2019, when it first came out. It was the best $1399 I've spent. Seeing at $900 makes me want to buy a 2nd one.... But I can't imagine having dual 49" super ultra wides....

it's stupid wide monitor for sure. But once you get used to it, you will enjoy every bit of real estate it is offering. Great color, refresh rate, etc. I use it for gaming too.

Check out facebook marketplace or craigslist. I've seen many for sale around $500-600

Why not buy a 43 inch 4K monitor? If you have vertical desk space it's better in terms of real estate per dollar.
Why do people post stupid comments like this on deal threads?

Why would one get a monitor this large over something like a 48C1?
Why bother posting this comment? its a deal about this monitor.. a 48C1 is like $500 more.
