25$ smart plug? A bit inflated, imo

They just came out with new devices. The only thing outdated at this point is the 4k stick and cube. I don't see them updating those for a while because the new stick that was recently released. as in they want you to buy the new version, then theyll release the new 4k version, then the cube. for those that like to have all the new stuff, otherwise most would just buy the cube/4k stick and skip the others.

I would say no. They're pretty much just slightly faster e readers. The ones I've had have been slow and clunky.

Do I ever have news for you about cell phones.
Not necessarily meaning new devices coming up, but that could also happen.
They do this kinda sale every year a few weeks after PrimeDay where Amazon devices are listed at Prime Day sale prices on other retailer's platform. For the device business of Amazon, it's important to play nicely with B&M retailers like Target and BestBuy to reach more customers and so not piss them off with exclusive discounts only available on Amazon.com.
If you noticed, Google too does it regularly where devices are all discounted to the same price point at various retailers.
For us customers, it's another opportunity to lap them up at sale prices if you missed picking up something on PrimeDay.
For SD'ers, PrimeDay deals are usually better because of Trade-in offers. If you don't have a prime membership or don't have a device to trade-in, these are good. Eg. With a free Target Red card, you could get a 5% discount.
