Kinda crazy how these are getting "laggy". Screw companies and planned obsolescence. It's a speaker. Nothing has changed, and if they were fast when jjst released, they should be fast now. Software updates shouldn't slow them down, and they don't have batteries that weaken over time. I barely use my alexas, I have 3 and definitely notice my older tower Alexa speaker has slowed down, while my 4th gen dot is faster. There is nothing that should warrant the older ones getting slower..

FWIW, sound performance has improved over the puck design. So much that I don't need to hardwire it to a bluetooth speaker anymore for casual listening. I'm actually using two 4th Gen as TV speakers.

I've found myself having to speak louder for it to register my voice and word recognition have gotten worse. Wasn't the case from 2nd to 3rd Gen.
