That's one of the best prices per mile I've ever seen, hands down. Cheap way to earn some miles, too, while getting out of town during the worst weather of the year
No seat selection? How is boarding handled? Are you seated with other members of party?
You're assigned a seat when you get to the gate.
No guarantees that you will be seated with your party, but sometimes people will swap seats to let you.
A miles run sounds good. I've actually flown atl to lax - got a coffee and flew back home to make it to diamond class a few times. Nice perks. These days - I like staying home and planting things in the dirt.
Doesn't Delta give you miles based on how much money you spend? So wouldn't this just give you as many miles as spending $200 somewhere else?
I would make trips from east coast to Fairbanks quite frequently for business. This is a good price. Only thing to be careful with Delta to Alaska is that they typically use smaller Canada Air regional jets and may not fit your carryon luggage. Alaska Airlines and American (in summer season) typically have best routes in my experience.
Are you serious? I'm surprised a loaded CRJ has the range for either of these legs. And that's cruel and unusual punishment for flights over 2 hours, especially if you're over 5'8" — the walls of the fuselage are far from vertical. Not to mention the mandatory gate check of any carryons. If true, total dealbreaker. Worth reading the equipment before you finish booking.

I hear you, but Fairbanks isn't too far from Denali. For those who aren't familiar, you can rent a car in Fairbanks and get there in about 2.5 hours.
Not much car rentals available this year.

This right here
Some places don't do this and you're on the hook for the total amount that it was booked at based on the T&C in the rental contract
