If you're making fun of these for being "dad shirts" you were never alive when these were anything close to being a "great "brand. And they were never a great brand.

These shirts are ok for zoom camouflage or if you're a low / mid level salesperson. They're better than jc penny / macys, but everything in this price range fits poorly - loose or boxy, but if you're sartorially inclined you're not scoping slickdeals for $10 JAB shirts. There are serviceable suits and shirts higher up the price tier but you have to go there in person to check fit and I hate the way the stores are laid out.

IMO the next step up in price / quality would be internet order (spier and mackay / tm lewin / charles tyrwhit) and various mall brands (j crew, lands end, brook brothers on ebay). $40-60 a shirt. That's when the money spent starts being worth it in the longer run.

I would also assume that anything w a significant poly blend percentage is non iron.

Not sure why people don't like jos a banks. They are cheap shirts that last a long time with decent care. They go really well with sports jackets and you can generally find a fit for anyone. Once you know your sizes, this is the go to for the young professional. At 10-20 bucks each, you can experiment for what works best for you.
