I really enjoyed the movie. However, Steven Yeun's English -playing a first generation Korean- was not believable. Luckily he speaks English only a couple of times. Based on my Korean friends, his Korean accent was even worse.

This movie had so much potential to be good. But it just ended up being yet another meaningless pointless modern movie. At least it had one or two cute or funny parts.

In many Asian cultures, deep emotions are often expressed in subtle ways. You are judging this Asian drama against Western drama movies which are often loud, bold and lack subtleties. It's apples to oranges. Think of it like an iPhone which was influenced by Japanese design. The genius of it is its simplicity and subtlety not boldness.

Ehhh maybe. I enjoy subtlety. It had good parts. But ultimately to me was meandering and didn't resolve well. But it did have good parts and like yeun.

Let's not forget the story takes place on a farm.... In the middle of the country. So of course the pace will be slow at times to match the settings of the story. What did you expect? Glamorous "Sex and the city" kinda pace? There's a reason why many critics and viewers rated this movie highly.

No. I live in the Midwest in lower populated area and don't like that style you mentioned. It's shallow.

It's just a missing element hollywood doesn't seem to cover and hasn't for years. Story doesn't end in a logical spot. Just lingers unsatisfying. That's all.

A lot of Asian yet not 100% Asian films are written this way and directed/shot in this way. Take a look at "Burning" also was (might still be) on Netflix. Even the ending to Parasite. Just a lot of Asian films seem to not take the black and white approach to the ending of a story or a movie. But I get where you are coming from.
