Consider Mercer knifes instead... little more money but much better handle and all...

https://www.amazon.com/Mercer-Cul...002R1CGV6/

and an alternate Mercer knife for about half the price

Man really gives one sentence on why he thinks a similarly highly reviewed knife is better than another highly reviewed knife without any further explanation

They certainly have. My amazon history shows that I purchased 1 in 2013 for $17. That being said, it's still holding strong. I do sharpen it with a stone when needed.

Reviews complaining the underside of the handle is rough and unfinished, blade is only half tang (apparently they were falsely advertising it as full tang a few years ago with multiple reviews pointing this out), and tang is not flush with the wood causing concerns for water and bacteria getting in.

Fibrox handle is amazing.
I don't think many people realize that wood, metal, ivory, and other exotic materials make poor working cutlery.

Misen knives are a notch better than Vic's. Rubberized handles. Carbon steel though, so it's not for everyone. Especially those who love their branded knives with wood handles.

Try cutting a bag of onions with the Vic and you'll get why grippy handle is as important as balance and edge.

I recently bought these knives from Sams. My daughter needed some knives for her apartment so for the price I thought I'd give them a try. I used them on a test run cutting some veggies and thought they were a decent alternative to this Vic knife (which I own and use). Maybe others have used them more extensively and have better feedback. For those with a Sams membership you might give them a shot, especially given their price. If someone has used these and they are crap then ignore me.

Are Misen knives good? Lowkey always concerned when a brands main pull seems to be good internet marketing but will look into it
