The sub is built in, so basically it is going to be as good as built in subs go, which is not good to begin with.
Rather than falling for the "gaming" and "atmos" marketing, a 2.1 soundbar with a discrete sub should perform much better. There are frequently deals on Vizio 2.1 which are actually cheaper than this.
Have you actually heard this soundbar? I have not, so I will not claim to know if it's good or bad, but I have multiple systems and can say that not all integrated subwoofers are bad. I have the ZVOX 670, and the bass in that system is almost as good as a discrete 8" sub that I have. Sure, I also have a larger sub that sounds better, but my point here is that is not always good to generalize these things, especially without first hand knowledge of the product being discussed.

Yeah, personally, I'd never pay this much for an integrated sub. As is, it's no different than any other wireless BT speakers. I bought one last year for the bedroom, returned it quickly because it was a ripoff for what you get.

Add Drama and Realism to Your Home Theater: More than a speaker for PC or TV gaming, the SC-HTB01 premium soundbar gives you a whole-body connection to music and movies too, with dimensional dialogue, ambient music and environmental sound
Industry-Leading Technology: 2.1 channel 3-way speaker system with built-in subwoofer uses 4K HDR passthrough for zero loss in image quality; Supports DTS:X and DTS:X Virtual surround sound technology
generally speaking, you need at least 3 feet of separation between LR channel to actually make decent stereo imaging, otherwise you just contribute to overall loudness.
for that reason, this will behave a lot more like a mono sound, not that great at that either (given build in sub for its small size).
it is never ideal to go with those if you have other options, but if you must, i'd recommend Vizio instead, at least you can use that for monitor raiser
If you don't need a soundbar shape, you'll get MUCH better 2.1 sound out of the cheaper Logitech Z623 set. Better sound in every way. But it's two small speakers and a subwoofer, so it won't fit every setup.
Or, add another $90 and get something legit, like a Katana... https://www.gamestop.com/electron...d_listings
weird enough, Gamestop lists it as Plantronics, but it's a Creative speaker

If you don't mind the wires this is a surely a better sounding setup for your desk. I've had one for 10 years, it's survived 3 moves and still sounds great.
I want a compact soundbar type solution for use with my gaming laptop. The width on this thing makes it tempting. I generally use headphones but there are times when I just find wearing headphones taxing and would rather just have decent sound without anything strapped to my skull. This is interesting
