Thanks OP, that's a great price for an LG Gram.

I do want to point out that this 15.6" unit has a conventional 16x9 aspect ratio screen and not the 16x10 that is on the larger Gram series laptops. It seems like a minor point, but for those of us who enjoy (or need) the extra vertical screen space, this should be known.

Others will undoubtedly start trashing this deal due to the 'specs versus price' argument, but these Grams fit into a specific niche market; a niche that some just won't "get". If you are someone who constantly moves your laptop to different places, these are simply fantastic. An excellent balance of thin, light, durable, and powerful enough to competently handle the tasks required by the vast majority of the working public. (Not everyone is a gamer.) And I almost forgot to mention the almost unbelievable battery life.

And to address the durability: The flexibility of the magnesium alloy chassis is a good thing, not a flaw. It allows the unit to absorb impacts gracefully instead of breaking or cracking. There are videos from a few years ago of people abusing and beating the snot out of the early Grams, and they keep on going. I'm typing this on a 3-year old 17" Gram that has had a relatively rough life... and it just keeps going & going & going. wootheart

I was at costco today and was drooling on these, super light-weight.

Is there any chance (though slim) that the ssd and ram can be upgraded or are they soldered in?

Too bad no AMD Ryzen CPUs, would be perfect for this form factor.

Not familiar with Costco policy. Just bought this for my wife two weeks ago for 900. Do I have to do much to get a price match assuming eligible?

Typically 30 days price match on these items from Costco.

BTW I've been eyeing the one and it's been $999 for the longest time. Curious when/how it was $900?

I paid full price. So it was 999 I guess. More incentive to get my butt to Costco for the price match

You can get a price match within the first 90 days for computers. I bought a laptop last year and got a price match after 2 months. They shouldn't give you any problems. If for some reason they don't, just return and buy it again.

I don't think that's accurate. I got a price match 2 months after I bought my laptop last year. I believe you have 90 days for a price match and if they refuse, you can just return and buy it again.

Chances are ram isn't upgradable but SSD should be. I also believe the screen peaks at 350ish nits.

Costco does not carry any 13" model of the LG Gram? I really like that size. 14" tops.

As far as I know, the latest generation is either 14, 15, 16, or 17 inches.

it's weird as this seems like the previous generation's 15.6" with updated internals. all the reviews on the new gen say they have 2 thunderbolts and 2 usb-a and a 16:10 aspect ratio. looking more closely this one has 3 usb-a and 1 thunderbolt with a 16:9 aspect ratio which is what the previous model gram had.
