I got one of these a while back at this price to drill some holes in a old keg to make it into a kettle. It worked much better than the cheap Amazon Chinese equivalent.

See Adam Savage's most recent video on his favorite tools. He says there is no appreciable difference between the cheap and expensive step drills. If you're doing thousands of holes, yes. But even for him he says the Harbor Freight ones are fine.

I did a quick search to see what these were going for and saw them New for $20 on ebay...if anyone is curious...https://www.ebay.com/itm/255026688536

EDIT- This one on ebay isn't as good as the better M35 grade cobalt HSS variant.

You can also put it in a drill press and use it like a nibbler for flat plastic sliding it along the table. Secondly, without the use of the table you can cut plastic of contoured shapes.
