Ugreen is a pretty established Chinese brand that makes cables, chargers, and various other accessories. They aren't some fly-by-night no-name operation.

I have an Aueky dual USB-C that I love. Since they got kicked off Amazon it's been hard to find dual USB-C chargers. I see Amazon has an Anker one for $48 https://www.amazon.com/Anker-AK-A...B07DFGV27X

I really want this 4-port one - there's a review of it damaging a macbook after 3 days.
Not UL certified.

I hope some more of these come to market soon.

Not established at all and only the last year or so have they started to appear on Slickdeals out of nowhere and are constantly flooding the forum with "sales". They're also owned by the same group that creates these no-name brands. They are by all looks and appearances, a fly-by no-name Chinese brand name.

It kind of is about the same quality as your dollar store charger. All made from the same city in China. Yes it will charge and you won't notice the problem right away. In fact you might not even notice it until it's way too late. I've had two laptops go bad on me and why I'm so pissed and always warning people. The first one bricked my girlfriend's Macbook Pro after about a month of usage which thankfully was under warranty and got repaired. The second one was my HP Envy which got a bulged laptop battery which I only noticed by chance a couple of years after when I decided to open it up and upgrade the HDD inside.

There are many things you can cheap out on but chargers is one area you should avoid cheap products. The risk is not worth it. You risk destroying devices that are worth hundreds of dollars to save what, $20-50?

I do kind of trust Anker more simply due to the number of customers they have and if they do have issues, I suspect it would've been revealed through reviews. I still recommend checking the bad reviews to ensure there really isn't any crazy issues.

The only other 3rd party brand I trust is Ravpower and that's because they've always focused on charging products and I used the Sony Camera batteries and chargers long before they become a known brand (that's also long before I knew how serious damage a bad power-related products can cause). Sadly, they're also banned from Amazon, which I think is funny cause Anker came up using the exact same tactics.

Can't say anything about the first laptop because you didn't give details, but I can definitely tell you that a bulge battery could mean alot of things and most likely is not the fault of the charger. I have had 2 laptops with bulge battery and both were strictly used of their stock chargers. I think my hypothesis on bulge battery is that it happens more when you leave the laptop constantly plugged in but I could be wrong, but I would never blame a bulge battery on the 3rd party charger.

Also 20-50 can be a lot depending on how much you paid for your equipment. It could be 20-30% of the cost of the item easily. Cmon, this is slickdeals.

I have used many third party chargers: Anker, ravpower, other no name, monoprice. Ironically the only charger I have ever had issues with was a 5 port Anker desktop charger years ago. One by one the ports were going out. Fortunately, Anker was pretty good about replacing it under warranty. I kept the old one and kept on using it until it is not down to 1 working port.

Never have i felt that any of them damaged my equipment.

This is a weird one. I saw that it supported 65W which would be enough to keep my laptop alive during normal use (OEM brick is 130W) _and_ provide another port for charging so I was skeptical. Sure enough it only does 65W if there's only the single plug connected up top.

I mean I guess you could find uses for it but this definitely wouldn't fit into the category of "it just works" as the instructions are remarkably specific. This also helps explain why most other 65W+ PD chargers have a single port or max two.
