Do these actually work well to keep cereal fresh? I feel like the original bag and a clip would be better especially as more of it is eaten.

Oxo usually has good product design and functionality which we appreciate. There is a rubber seal around the lid and the flip top which has helped our rice crispies and special K maintain their crunch. Add in the peace of mind from Costco's return policy and you have a pretty solid purchase.

These are overpriced as hell. Just get Rubbermaid 1.5 gallon sized containers, they keep cereal just as fresh for much cheaper.

I have the POP containers, and they're mediocre at sealing. I buy coffee beans in foil pouches with an integrated zip top, and they seem to stay fresher in the original pouch compared to the Oxo. However, the containers definitely seal better than a folded/clipped plastic bags.
