Maybe employers should pay their employees more instead of asking customers to pay their employees
Just wanted to share an encouraging thought. If any of y'all are able to use this coupon and you do get a significant discount, compared to what you normally pay for a haircut, you should use that as an opportunity to tip a little more generously. 🤠
do you realize that there are plenty of peer-reviewed studies out there showing that there is statistical significance in the tipping disparity for waitresses/waiters of different races? that alone should suggest that tipping is a toxic culture, not to mention the entitlement complex to go along with service providers expecting tips, and the variance in the amount each person tips for the same type of service. the US is one of the few countries in the world with this ridiculous culture, and it was founded from a time where owners were struggling. absent of COVID, that struggle is no longer relevant.

yes, it is actually as simple as abolishing tipping and having employers pay their employees more and employers can subsequently choose to up their prices for compensate. this way, things are actually normalized and not reliant on things of high variance.

I can confirm this did not work at a Great Clips in Upstate New York, specifically the one at 2394 Lyell Ave in Rochester, NY.
For anyone reading that and thinking "duh of course it didn't, NY is not mentioned anywhere in the terms", in the past I have used Great Clips coupons outside of the area specified in the terms with success, so to me it is always worth a try (as long as you are ready to pay full price if not accepted).
Although I wasn't able to benefit from it this time, I am still thankful to the OP for having posted this - keep them coming!
agree. people need to listen this time. this promo isnt working like it used to.

it didnt work for me either. i could use the last couple promos that didnt list my area. but not this time. its worse when they said they would take it as i firstwalked in. but then the system didnt take it. all they could do was to say sorry and i had to pay full price. never again.

They also mail discount postcards out and put codes in local flyers all the time. Very good price in the first place. Many locations, I love them. I definitely will be going back.

same like this one. its very regional specific. yes, we used to get those postcards out in our area too. not anymore.

if you see them mailing out in your area. that means your area is very slow and they need to push it. they are getting greedier now. after getting enough customers in. now they stop issuing any coupons online or via local flyers. not even for a $2 off.

Is 50% really common practice? I always thought it was a similar % to what you give waiters. Or do you also give the wait staff a 50% tip when you eat out?
It depends on the service and the time of day. Breakfast I almost always do 50% tip; dinner is usually 30-35% unless they go above and beyond then 50% is not unreasonable.

The people handling your food or cutting your hair are important; I don't cheap out on them!

The hell. Anything less than an absurd 30-35% for dinner or 50% for lunch is not cheaping out. Not to sound like Mr. Pink because I believe in tipping 15-20% but if there is anyone deserving of tips in a restaurant it's the chefs/cooks who skillfully make the meals, not those simply bringing the food.

Not sure why I'm just seeing the notification for this now but wanted to clarify that some locations make the servers split tips with the backend workers, busboys, bartenders, hostess, etc. Most of those people make minimum wage (which is still shit) whereas the servers get around $3hr.
