I disagree, I have been using it for the past year or so. Great build quality for the price!

not a great price, stay away from this laptop. Flimsy build quality, not worth the price.

You clearly have not seen this laptop in person. Go to a Best Buy store so you can see how wrong you are. This is a great deal. Intel Evo laptop

I dunno, I'm thinking $649 is pretty decent. Is anyone seeing *anything* in the 13-14" range with 11th gen intel, 12 or more gigs memory, 512gb SSD and a 300nit or greater screen for under $700. Anywhere? If so, please share! Peace

Interesting. Usually made of metal is a pro. I would pin the con on Dropping It Off The Sofa
honestly.. being metal adds nothing to the laptop other than anesthetic
its heaver, more costly
it actually made it weaker against drops
and made it less flexible for any deformity over time
and the fact that the power button is so precisely cut any bend or deformation causes it to be pressed permeantly

same goes for a phone.. ever wonder why phone case weren't a necessity back in the days when phones were plastic? same thing.. the weight of metal / glass actually made phones weaker and less resistant to shocks . people are just crazy with anesthetics.... I would HATE to have to put a case on my laptop though laugh out loudlaugh out loud

that said, this is a very nice laptop. fast and good amount of ram. able to upgrade NVME. has usb c charging, and screen is excellent along with excellent touchscreen sensitivity and includes a stylus.

no build in pen holder so you do have to use the included pen holder which takes up a usb port ..

What stylus is included? I don't see it on the website.

2x2 wifi anyone know about this? I bought one from HP I opted out on the 30$ extra charge for that 2x2 wifi is it worth it?
It's not a make-or-break deal, but all higher-end laptops should have it. You get better range and you get higher throughput [smallnetbuilder.com]. It won't help much with latency, but otherwise, I do opt for it.

"More streams improve receive signal-to-noise performance, which push the RvR curves upward and improve overall Wi-Fi performance."

RvR curve = distance from router vs speed. More Wi-Fi streams allow for higher speeds at longer ranges; most routers are 3x3 today, so having a 2x2 allows your laptop to have a higher-quality connection.

The range: at the farthest distances, a 1x1 might've crapped out, while a 2x2 is still usable. It's not earth-shatteringly better, but IMHO, I do so much using Wi-Fi, it's better to have the best connection.

If I could pay for a 3x3, I'd probably do it. 😂

Hi All! Hope everyone is enjoying the summer. Looking to upgrade from a Surface Book 1st Generation. Touch screen is important and beyond that speed/general performance as used for a lot of video conferencing.. anyone made the journey from surfacebook to something like this?

Whatever happened to 13.3" laptops, especially those with higher resolution ~2560x1440 and a higher nit ~350? Costco had one on sale a few months ago for around $650 but no one seems to carry it anymore. I almost got one but the CPU was a bit underpowered and it could have used an additional port, so I passed. 14" is ok but I prefer a slightly smaller laptop for portability, but mostly I like the higher resolution and brighter screen since I use spreadsheets a lot and sometimes work outdoors.

Disagree. Metal may bend but doesn't break. Plastic will more likely break or crack. You would rather have a bend or break? You are the first person I have read that prefers plastic bend over metal for build quality. It is laughable that you cite a 3 feet drop which is your fault as a con for this laptop. I have used laptops for 20+ years and have never dropped a laptop. Lastly, metal does not mean it has to be heavy. If anything it's the reverse. They have to make the plastic thicker to lessen the cracking. Most of the heaviest laptops out there are plastic. Look at the dells. Their higher level aluminum inspiron and their xps weigh less than their lower level inspiron plastic counterparts. I have a Samsung 13" metal build laptop that weighs 2 lbs. Dare you to find a plastic laptop that weighs less.

This, 100%! I got my son the Costco one for college (Lenovo S540) but unfortunately it has to go back -- the usb3 port is mis-aligned. A usb device won't plug in without "levering" it and bending the internal connector. Which pretty much means the jack to motherboard connection is going to fail. So I want to return it during the costco 3-month return window, but I can't figure out what to replace it with. I'd love the same one, but with an 11th G or AMD processor.

I guess this one is OK, but the resolution doesn't have me thrilled ... Confused

Obviously you've not used this laptop so you should stop FUD
I said "The metal bend so power button kept pressed". And also USB port become inaccessible. So yes I rather the case crack than metal being bend.

Plastic laptops now a days weights less than 2lb. Go check out those 2 in 1 Walmart tablet laptop you'll see

Link or it doesn't exist. And when I say laptop, I mean with keyboard.
