I disagree, I have been using it for the past year or so. Great build quality for the price!

not a great price, stay away from this laptop. Flimsy build quality, not worth the price.

the fact that you FUD about metal > plastic when you don't even have this laptop should be enough to shut you up.

There is an option when you choose your payments to click a box that says take another $100 off. It wasn't available on my mobile device but when I logged on with a desktop browser the option is there. After it was selected on the desktop browser the price dropped. Give that a try. Some BB employees are aware and walk consumers to their demo PCs to get the deal.

Why would anyone buy a laptop with only 5.2 cores? These days the minimum is 6. Note that 1 core with 2 threads = 1.3 cores, so 4 x 1.3 = 5.2 cores. The last time I got a laptop with so few cores was when my employer gave me something back in 2013 ...

I am buying Ryzen 5 or 7 these days or nothing at all!

Most recent Costco deal was a Ideapad Flex 5 (=Yoga) with Ryzen 4700u and 16GB RAM / 512GB for $750 which is a much better deal (8 cores) and on sale, $649, a much much better deal ...

First off, let's get something straight. I never commented on this laptop. I was commenting on your statement of metal vs plastic. Metal is less prone to breaking than plastic and I stand by that. Not sure how and in what ways you dropped your laptop (like i said, i have never dropped a laptop 3 feet before) for it to result in such a condition, and i don't really care. i stand by my original statement, plastic breaks more easily than laptop. It's pretty much a proven fact. 99% of people with an IQ over 50 would take a metal laptop that is less prone to cracking and breaking than a plastic laptop. i stand by that fact also. Not sure what i have to ST*U about.

Secondly, are you FREAKING kidding me? I tell you my 13" inch aluminum laptop weighs 2 lbs and you bust out with a 10" inch tablet with keyboard? What next, you are gonna bust out a Palm PDA and tell me it's plastic and weighs less than 2 lbs? You ever heard of apples and oranges?

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL. Despite trying to pull a fast one with a 10 inch tablet you still got it wrong. For the Evita Magnus that you linked first, the weight listed is for just the tablet without a keyboard, even though the keyboard is included.
Here is a real Amazon review where the reviewer states that with keyboard, it weighs 2.5 lbs (and 1inch thick to boot)!!!!
https://www.amazon.com/gp/custome...B08J9HSK7V
The second link is of a refurbished such an old device i can't really find anywhere for certain, so not even going to bother waste my time on that except to say Amazon has the Android version of this listed at over 3 lbs with keyboard!!!

Again, how about something 13 inch and up? (I will even take 12.5)

So what were you saying about ST*U?

Here's a much much better deal : #1 best seller on NewEgg, $699, much much (100%) faster processor, more RAM (16GB), screen slightly dimmer (250 nits) but otherwise, better :
Lenovo Flex 5 15ALC05 82HV003QUS AMD Ryzen 7 5000 Series 5700U (1.80 GHz) 16 GB Memory 512 GB PCIe SSD AMD Radeon Graphics 15.6" Touchscreen 1920 x 1080 Convertible 2-in-1 Laptop Windows 10 Home 64-bit
https://www.newegg.com/lenovo-fle...6834645620

Also note that a laptop with 12GB is actually crippled in a way.
For the graphics to run quickly, it needs 2-channel memory.
A laptop with 12GB of RAM is actually:
8GB of 2-channel memory
4GB of 1-channel memory
So the graphics will not perform well, especially on games with large texture maps or games that do not manage memory in the best way.
So this is a total yawn to me, it's a 2019 laptop where they slapped an aluminum case on it to fool everybody into buying it ...

I appreciate the post, but that's a different class of machine -- for many people, the screen is the thing. In my case, 14" is almost too big. Plus "slightly dimmer" is a non-starter. 300nits is the bare minimum, with 350 or above where I'd really like to be.

Yeah, you're gonna need a good screen to look at while you sit there twiddling your thumbs, waiting for the slow, laggy laptop, to produce some results ...
Also note that the cores in the Intel processor are literally "melt your thighs" inefficient and hot, it's probably why they used a metal case (heat sink), and the 300 nits will kill the battery even faster ...

well, as i stated many times, what you said is completely false and deemed false in my example where the metal deformed causes the power button to push down consistently. you lose.

the extra 3 or 4 inch screen won't add much weight to a laptop
a laptop at 10" weight 1.5lb will still weigh < 2 lb at 14"
you can ST*U now...

I bought the Flex before I got this laptop... the Flex has really dim screen..although it says 250nits, it really felt like 200 nits at best even after replacing color profiles and calibration etc
its sad because other than the screen, Flex is a nice laptop at an awesome price

This model of Flex is only $500, has a faster 6-core (12-thread) processor (= 7.8 cores vs. this deal's 5.2 cores), 12GB of RAM, and a 300-nits (probably the same) display. A much much better deal, once again.

Again just talking out of your behind. If that is the case, every laptop would be 2 lbs. Just give me an example and stop pulling bs out of thin air. Your first 2 examples were inaccurate.

And just to be clear once again, the 10-inch laptops you provided were not 1.5 lbs. Those are the weights of the tablet part of the tablet PC WITHOUT the keyboard. I have given you the link of it with the keyboard that made it 2.5 lbs. I guess reading is not your strong suit.

Wait until you see the screen... It's extremely dim. It looked like maybe 180nits at highest brightness. Screen quality does matter.

A pretty good price for this hardware. With the back to school tax free holiday in Florida (until August 9th), makes it even sweeter

it clearly stated in the specs its 250 nits
but in reality, it really felt like 180 nits
