Starting August 4, they will have $50 off a four pack, making it $179.99. I don't think I've seen a four-pack for this little (I think the last time it hit $180 it was for the three pack).

Now the question for me is do I get this, or get the TP-Link Deco X60 that goes on sale later this week for $220? I don't think I absolutely need four units, but for $40 less, what am I giving up getting this over the TP-Link?

This seems like a decent deal but personally, I'd probably go with the Deco X60. You get wifi 6 and better range/speeds. Neither has tri band so hard wiring would give you the best performance, although it's not necessary in many cases.

The X60 is a piling heap of garbage and I would highly recommend avoiding it at all costs. I got it off one of the slickdeals here and I literally had to reset it every day sometimes multiple times a day. TP link support was horrendous and then they wanted me to pay to ship it to them as they deemed it defective.

Just ended up returning to Costco. I now how the Eeros and not a single issue which confirmed my suspicion that the X60s were just terrible. Hope this helps someone

I just upgraded 3 Google Wifi 1st gen routers to 3 Deco M9 plus and speeds/coverage are significantly improved in my house. My only issue is some devices like the Fire Stick 4k sometimes revert to 2.4 Ghz band and need to be manually changed to 5 Ghz, but I'm very pleased with the upgrade.

I've set up the Deco X60 for my relatives and it has been stable ever since. I still have the app installed on my phone and it hasn't had any downtime or connection issues. It has been up and running for 4 months now. TP Link is one of the most popular brands out there and they make quality stuff for typical home users and pro stuff for businesses.

For anyone looking for another WiFi 6 mesh alternative that doesn't require cloud setup, I came across these AX1800 routers from Cudy on Amazon a while back and just set up 4 in a mesh here:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B089KBTXHR/

Stock firmware appears to be a modified version of Open-WRT and they can use hardwired ethernet for the backhaul.

When I bought they were $40 each (they're currently at $50 now).

Glad it worked for you. It was a nightmare for me just sharing my experience with that model. Look at the one star reviews on Costco for that model I am not alone which is why I gave up and chose to return it.

Never ever this any longer this is so old im sure there is dust inside the pucks from how long they been sitting in the boxes.

On a serious note these are the grandfathers of mesh, they are old and outdates. The M9 will run circles around this google set with wireless backhaul and with wired backhaul so it dont matter how you set it up.

I also picked up the 3 Deco M9 from Costco and coming from an old standard wifi router, it's night and day difference in spots like the basement where I have my WFH office. I was sometimes getting less than 5 MB and getting dropped on zoom calls in the middle of meetings. Now it's pretty much max speed (110MB) throughout the 3 level home. I am light gamer, typical household for movie streaming, web browsing, a dozen or so smart home devices so 110 MB is more than enough as long as I can get that consistently.
I also got the Eero wifi 6 router + 2 beacons pack, but since I have no wifi 6 devices not sure it's worthwhile for me right now and likely will just return it and keep the TPlink. In a couple of years when I do feel the need for wifi 6 I am sure prices will come down more by then.

AC1200...woof

As mention above, these the grandfathers.

Consider the Eero 6 (ax1800) or TPlink

Indeed. These have been very stable for me for the last 4 years but they're not very fast and I don't think I'd buy them again in late 2021.

Have Google Wifi because we have Google Fiber. but for some reason in my room. I'm not getting anywhere near the Gig speed. I'm only getting just over 100 mbps download and upload. When we had Spectrum and i was using my Linksys Velop. I was regularly getting 450 mbps download and about 50 upload. Though we were paying for 400 mbps download.

to get true 1gb connection your device has to be hardwired in... most wireless devices cant even get over 400 mbps.
