I have a mix of blink gen 1 and XT2 cameras. Battery life will run for a while if you have the cameras on lowest settings. I have a solar panel connected to each camera, each panel has 2 rechargeable batteries so I don't worry about battery draining.
Camera's are good if setup correctly. I have them running on highest settings.
Pro's
-Cheap security system with very good picture quality.
-App works fine, could need some improvements.
-Support is very good and responsive.
-I have the free cloud storage since I bough the a while back.
Cons
-Batteries will drain fast om high settings. To take full advantage, you need a solar panel or some sort of external power source, unless you have the camera pointing to an area where there is not a lot of motion.
- Hit or miss on some alerts. You would trigger motion but the camera isn't responsive.
-You can't upgrade the firmware manually.
-you can't rebootbthr camera remotely. You will have to unplug the batter to reset it. So it might become annoying if you have the camera mounted somewhere high.
- Sync module coverage is decent. I have a 2300 sqf hone and I don't get the 3 bars connection on all cameras. You have to position the sync module in the middle.
-only sync module 2 supports local storage (USB/External/etc)
I hope this helps.
Do you know if the model in this deal can be powered by solar ? Thanks
wasn't there some big drama with these where the company was shutting some sort of service down? and ppl were gonna have to pay for something instead of getting it free like in the past? i dunno if it was storage or online functionality
Can I leave the batteries in the camera and then attach the solar panel?
Yes that how I have it. The solar panel comes with one rechargeable battery. I bought extra ones, and have 2 AA batteries in the camera.
Make sure when you install the camera to fully charge the solar panel batteries by leaving it in the sun for a day or so, then power on the camera using the solar panel (don't insert the AA batteries yet). Ones it powered on, put in the AA batteries.

Thanks for tip. I'll be to sure to charge it, hook it up then put the batteries in. So the batteries inside the camera act as back up? Also, can you insert more than one battery in the panel?

Yeah in case the solar fails or the batteries in it. And yes 2 slots inside the solar panels for rechargeable batteries.

Yes there was. And I find it hard to believe no one has mentioned the subscription needed for this package…. As in monthly added cost. Slickdeals feels more and more like a shill site not that screens replies to threads.

This is what I have and they've been running solid for the past 2 years. They come with one rechargeable battery and you can install a second one.

The sync modules works on both camera generations. Sync module 2 has the local storage option, the older one does not.

Which rechargeable batteries are you using for the panel? Does your blink camera also have rechargeable batteries?
I ordered the solar panel, should come around the same time as the cameras.

I have these batteries installed in the solar panel.
Sony | Murata VTC5A 18650 2600mAh 25A
I don't have rechargeable in the cameras.
