Lenovo must have the worst AI to produce the most unpredictable and inaccurate estimates. Or they must have the best AI to generate the most psyched roller-coasting estimates to force people to cancel.
It is interesting to study how the updates work. I've noticed some of us are all pooled together once again, regardless of the laptop model.

After bouncing all over the calendar, my L5 17 has been stationary for the last week: Expected to ship Nov. 30, arriving December 7.

Lenovo does that every 14 days . It's just a hold and not a charge Smilie

Asked them about an update since haven't heard anything in quite a while. They said this:
I am sorry for the time frame. This item is being built from scratch at the warehouse Overseas since this is a custom to build order. Ergo the estimated shipping date may vary and it will be based on the product availability, parts availability, and production time. However, this is just an expected ship date and can change to a sooner date. This is just the late case scenario. We assure you that we are doing our very best to ship your order as soon as possible and to provide a top-quality machine.

Just got charged a few hours ago for this laptop as well, fairly interesting. I placed my order like 30min before the coupon got pulled so I didn't really expect to be charged so soon.

What if they used the glitch to test the market to see what they could charge for their Black Friday sales. Then they push the sold laptop ship dates beyond Black Friday… Then cancel them right before BF, and Jack the price. 🤔

Or something like that.

Check video at 1:30.

I think i can see on your pic that your port has been removed…, but you can literally see where a 2.5" hdd would go. Sucks yours is gone.
That's last years model.

Need some input folks. Started a new job and wouldn't be able to open the box for another year. Should I cancel or will the laptop still be a "bargain" in a year?

I placed the following order (expected arrival 10/1)
L5Pro Gen 6 (16")
Ryzen 7 5800H
3070 (8GB)
32GB Ram (3200)
2TB (1TBx2)
Win Pro
Office H&B 2019
4z RBG

$1,500

Worth paying now and opening in a year?

Personally I would never purchase any computer equipment a year out. Too much can change in the interim.

Definitely not worth the price one year from now. This deal itself will seem as normal price in about 6 months time. For any electronics purchase, it's best to buy when you actually need it! Besides windows laptops don't have good resale values & if you decided to sell this unopened after a year you might not even get what you paid for.
Lastly not to mention that you will loose on valuable warranty time!!!

I had the same status 2 weeks ago. Turned out that my credit limit was just shy of the laptop price. So, it was rejected when Lenovo tried to reinstate the charge on my card.
