The Pro 5 supposedly ships in 10-12 business days as opposed to 3+ months for the normal Legion 5 17" model. I took a shot at this; after-tax total of $1,647.50 for the Pro 5 with:

● AMD® Ryzen™ 7 5800H Processor (3.20 GHz, up to 4.40 GHz Max Boost, 8 Cores, 16 Threads, 16 MB Cache)
● Windows 10 Pro 64 English
● 32 GB DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 16 GB)
● 1 TB PCIe SSD
● 1 TB PCIe SSD
● 16.0" WQXGA (2560 x 1600) IPS, anti-glare with Dolby Vision™, HDR 400, 500 nits, 165Hz
● NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX™ 3070 8GB
● 720p HD
● Array Microphone
● Storm Grey
● Backlit 4 Zone RGB - US English
● Wi-Fi 802.11AX (2 x 2) & Bluetooth® 5.1
● Anodizing
● PC/ABS
● 4 Cell Li-Polymer 80Wh
● 300W AC
● Publication-English
● 1 Year Depot or Carry-in

Fingers crossed to get this laptop at $950 off the retail price!

Might be putting the cart before the horse here but what is good ram to put in the L517 if it has less than desirable ram that I've read about? And it is worth a significant speed increase vs the price to do it?
I haven't decided yet, but I'm probably going with this...

Thank you. I'm just wondering if it's worth the money to stick another $100 or $200 for a small percentage increase. I'm not doing anything real strenuous with the laptop. Basically a little gaming and normal browsing and streaming and maybe some games for the kids.

If that's what you decided, you should get this instead for $228: https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-F...B097QJ25NY

Kingston recently sold their "HyperX" brand to HP, and they are renaming their memory products to the new "Fury" brand.

Edit: Took out the OfficeDepot link, it was for a single stick not, a two stick kit.

FWIW, I ordered the 64GB kit for $300 from OfficeDepot using another coupon with the expected ship date a couple months out, and I received it after about a month. I feel like $220 for 32GB is on the expensive side, so if you are not in a hurry, you can order from OD or wait for Black Friday to see if there's any deal.

That is going from 1 stick to 2. I assume that is where a lot of the performance gains are coming from. We should be getting 2 X 8GB. I very well might be incorrect though.

Alternatively, OfficeDepot has the 32GB kit for $206 and you can use their 20% off email sign-up coupon ($206 * .8 = $164.80) , but the expected ship date is November: https://www.officedepot.com/a/pro...at=1461950 [officedepot.com]

If you have a capitol one card they currently have 15% cash back at Office Depot. An extra 24$. So around 140$.

Thoughts on this 2x16gb deal as an upgrade for the L517? Is it able to take advantage of full RAM speed? https://slickdeals.net/f/15290248-32gb-g-skill-ripjaws-series-ddr4-3200-so-dimm-laptop-memory-kit-newegg-105?page=2#commentsSection

One of the reviews show the slower timings on newegg for this deal. I think for fast timings you will need to spend $180-225 but I haven't dug into it too much.

Need to correct myself here. It looks like that OD link is for a single 32GB memory stick, and that's not a good because you always want two for dual channel.

Has anyone L5 17 tracking not update since the 19th. The tracking info says the item is In Shanghai and hasn't been handed over to UPS has yet; hence, the UPS.com site doesn't have info on the tracking since they haven't received the package has yet.

The reason I am concerned is because the delivery is suppose to be tomorrow the 22th of September.
Is anybody else experiencing this issue?

Mine had an export scan in Shanghai but hasn't done much since. Lenovo says the 23rd now but UPS says check back tomorrow.
