Was wondering why I paid so much from Costco for mine when I got it last year. Mine is tri-band so has a dedicated wireless back haul. The unit here is dual band. My tri-band from Costco has been rock solid and I have had zero problems with it.

These are only dual band first warning for people and if you have speeds over 600Mbps wireless you will bottleneck this system if your using a wireless only setup. The X60s are significantly faster with their dual band setup. If you hardwire the units they are just slightly slower to equal in most cases than the X60 hitting around 700Mbps but not holding a signal with higher speeds at a distance as the X60's.

The real nice thing about this set though is that cause its the pro, you get a full rich web interface with all the normal routers options you would get on a single stand a lone router, instead of the limited amount you get with most modern mesh.

So for those who want speed go for the X60, for those who have 500 Mbps ISP speeds and want customization and full network customization go with this.

just had these delivered minutes ago, only got 2 instead of the 3. I got 10% off by subscribing to email instead of the save10, which was 20$ better than the amazon sale on the set of 2 . If you buy 2, it will cost 150$ to add a third if you decide to, they sell it separate. the 2 cost 180, so you're effectively paying 90-100$ for the third satellite with this deal instead of 150, if you want 3 in the future.

Can you separate the the 2.4/5 gh band into two separate SSID?

If you can't wire the satellites back to the router and have to use wireless backhaul, tri-band will be better than dual. If you can use wired backhaul, it won't matter.

I can't tell you yes or no based off my experience alone as Ive never used dual, but on paper it has a whole network to support back channeling of information therefore the speeds should be much faster if you're processing data wirelessly. If you only watch YouTube or surf the web and don't have a nas or gamers in the house etc.... Then you may not need tri

I don't believe so. I tinkered with it in the beginning and kind of forgot about it as I haven't needed to try to separate them for anything including all my smart objects.

Are these better than the eero pro 6? I've been looking for a new router mesh system. Will be switching from xfinity 400mbps to consolidated communication 1gb fiber since it's a better deal.

One story home, 2500 sqft, 2 adults WFM, no gamers just streaming shows and sports, lots of smart devices connected to network and plan to add more. I was told to get an unmanaged gigabit switch as well? I've got 4 (max of 5) Ethernet ports around the house. Would both (or all 3) routers from the deal be connected to the Ethernet ports or just plugged in for power?

The Eero Pro 6 is night and day better than these Orbis if using wireless only and its not even close. If you were to hardwire all the Orbis the Eero Pro 6 would still be better but the difference would not be as significant, Eero Pro 6 pure wireless can hit around 600-700Mbps, the Orbi minis can barely struggle to hit 300-400Mbps with wireless only, they are literally one of the slowest wifi 6 mesh out next to the even slower Eero 6 (non pro).

Only bad things about the EERO and EERO PRO 6 they have some horrible transfer performance transferring between two computers within the network, struggle to get around 300Mbps in network transfers.

When setting up you would have your modem, it would be connected to one of these guys, then a cable would go from the mesh router to your switch and the other two routers would connect to the switch for wired backhaul if you choose to go the wired route instead of letting them function wirelessly.

Only 2 mesh system take full advantage of 1Gbps speeds and currently they both go for around $400.
