Just a reminder that Ring will charge you $30 per year for a bare minimum subscription to their cloud video storage service to store recordings otherwise the doorbell pretty much just allows you to answer remotely in "real-time". I say that because "real time" usually means I see the back of the delivery person as they are leaving because it typically takes a long time to remotely connect to Ring. Ring does not support ONVIF which is a standard protocol that helps ensure IP security cameras can store their video feed on any local network video recorder (NVR) for motion detection, playback, alerts, etc. If you are in the Ring ecosphere with Ring security system and other devices than this sure seems like a good deal. If you want to integrate a doorbell camera with an existing IP-based security camera NVR such as LaView, Hikvision, Lorex, etc. then you may want to consider something else. This thread [ipcamtalk.com]over at ipcamtalk.com has a great primer on capabilities. I personally dumped the Ring Pro I purchased and bought/flashed an LaView doorbell camera to support ONVIF and it has been great addition to my existing Lorex NVR.

One other thing, you can trade the Echo Show 5 in for a $25 amazon gift card, plus 25% off coupon. If you do not need an extra Echo Show, and wanted another (more expensive ) Echo device, this might be a better deal for you. You can consider it as a $44 ring plus 25% off a new echo device.

trust me, wired is better for this case. Unless you like to change the battery every 3 weeks. Probably you got time for that.

I think so... price for the doorbell alone on amazon [amazon.com] is $59.99 and the echo show 5 seems to hover around the $45 price point regularly, although it has dipped as low as $25/$30 with different trade in deals etc....

Edit : and the same combo on amazon [amazon.com] is $139

Edit #2 - The doorbell+chime appears to be the same price as Amazon [amazon.com], but the other two combos are quite a bit more expensive on amazon. As a note, you can use the echo show and/or the dot as the doorbell, so I would say get one of those 2 bundles.

The show 5 kind of sucks. I wouldn't get this just for that, but this is pretty good if you just view that as a toss in item.

Seems like a good deal, ty op.

Somewhat related, we just bought and moved into a home that was built in mid 1980's. Coming from a home built in 2011. Been quite a pain in the toosh trying to make this house as smart as our last. Trying to hook up nest hello and current doorbell was dead. Anyway, after about 4 hours of searching everywhere we still can't find the doorbell transformer. Know it's the transformer that's the issue because no voltage at doorbell button wires or chime. Taking a shot in the dark but anyone else experienced similar and if so where did you eventually find the transformer. TIa

I've seen doorbell transformers in our electrical panel behind the cover and also in the attic. Did you trace the doorbell wires in the attic to the front door? The wires are low voltage and smaller in size. Check YouTube for tips on locating the transformer.

I have several POE hikvisions (mostly amcrest rebrands) and also a few laviews, all on blueiris. We are in the process of selling our home and building a new one. I plan to let the new owner take over all my POE cameras. Wife wants some sort of monitoring in the new house. The cheapest I have found is ring protect for $10/month. So I have been hoarding ring poe cameras from woot sales etc (the 2nd gen wired stickup cams). Also wiring up the new house everywhere with cat6 or better. Is there any other active monitoring service that I should look at? I'm hoping with Amazon backing, ring will be around for a long time and work through their capacity issues.
