Either or are relatively equal. GX2 typically goes on sale for less than this but this comes with some cheap fake bait to toss around and try your luck with. There is no real noticeable difference outside of that. Pflueger typically makes the better products in this price range for spinning reals. Sub $50 is a great entry price into fishing for anyone. Can't go wrong with any of these choices. Fishing is all about learning the water you're on and where fish tend to feel comfortable. All these rods will reach the same locations with the same effort.

They will all catch fish the same and none off anything superior to the other honestly. Go get some decent line for where you're fishing and avoid salt water. If you take it out anywhere with salt, hose the hell out of it asap. Don't let it sit. Personally I hose down all my fishing crap after each day.

The reviews on the reel arent that good on several sites (BassPro for example). And it's harder to break a Ugly Stick rod.

Ugly Stik comes with a 5yr warranty and awesome customer service. Had 2 replaced just pay $9 shipping (eyelets are junk). The GX2 reel is just ok tho
