VA panel.. I've a LG 4k IPS and Samsung Ultrawide VA panel side by side.. and IPS screen is just so much better than VA one. I got the Samsung 34" from Costco, I'll be returning it and getting LG 34" IPS WQHD which is on sale.
my 2ç review.

I prefer VA. IPS 'grey' blacks and its shimmery glow bug me. Its OK in brightly lit environments, but is truly awful in near dark rooms. Side-by-side, VA looks so much better. I returned the IPS panel I had bought to replace my 6 yo VA one. I'll stick with my VA until OLED is available at a reasonable size and price.

4 cents for folks...

Anyone have two of these as dual monitors? What is your experience like using two?

I have one already but do want more real estate. Not sure if two 35 inches monitors is too much. For $800, I'm now in Samsung G9 territory though

Two 35" is too much horizontal. Vertical stacked... oh yea! Can get a stand on Amazon for less than $30. You will love it!

Thank you. I wonder how vertical stack will work ergonomic wise, as I will be using both for work (coding).

What if I rotate both(portrait) and them side by side, vertical estate galore?

That would be way too tall, you'd have to tilt your head up and down to view the whole screen. My preferred setup for coding/productivity is a 4K 32" monitor flanked by 1-2 25" 2K monitors in portrait mode. This gives you plenty of real estate as many windows as you want in any configuration you want, including documents/specifications/browser windows in portrait mode and either a big focus window on the main screen or multiple windows snapped to grid. The other advantage of this layout is that your main focus (when looking straight ahead) is the middle of a screen, not the bezels of two monitors.

Since you already have a 34" ultrawide, I would suggest looking for a 24" 1440p monitor (or two) to flank it in portrait mode, that way you'll get some nice vertical real estate for documents, but it won't be *that* much taller than your ultrawide.

I just purchased the Samsung 34" Ultrawide from Costco last weekend for $299. (Specs below)
  • Resolution: 3440x1440
  • Refresh Rate: 75Hz
  • Response Time: 4ms
  • Panel Type: VA
  • Contrast Ratio: 3000:1
  • Viewing Angles: 178°/178°
  • Brightness: 300cd/m2
  • AMD FreeSync
  • Ports:
    2x HDMI (1x Ver 1.4; 1x Ver 2.0)
    1x DisplayPort 1.2

Would this LG 35" Curved Ultrawide be better overall for an extra $100?

They are both VA panel, not worth upgrading. The 34WL750-B.AUS is better as an upgrade since it is an IPS.

I just got the Samsung last weekend so technically I am not upgrading, per se. I would need to pick between the Samsung 34" Ultrawide ($299) and the LG 35" Curved Ultrawide ($399).

The Samsung also does NOT have speakers, no tilt, and no vertical adjustments. The LG has all these.

I forgot to mention that the use is for productivity like spreadsheets. I am not a gamer.
