Epic sports usually sells blemished leather balls for ~$20/dz, which is a better investment (though not currently available). Walmart will also start clearancing out their B&M inventory. These balls go for 50 cents on clearance. The 'little league' labeled leather balls go for $1.50.

These baseballs will do you fine around the yard working with your kids, particularly playing catch. (And I HIGHLY suggest you play ball with your kids at home....time is very limited in practice to really get better.)
However, if you're going to use these for team play or if your kid(s) want to hit them or use them for grounders, you'll probably be disappointed.
Instead, I would splurge on these:

Any time you can find these for under $3 each, it's worth it.

It's like $45 for a dozen so you don't get as much as this deal but they're supposed to be nicer.
We don't play baseball that seriously but have been taking my kids out to the ball field in the past year. And have found enough balls laying around there to fill up a five gallon bucket. They suit our purposes fine for batting practice. We started out purposely searching for them after seeing people mention it online. But found out that if you go out to the ball fields enough you'll inevitably find some with no effort.
I think we started out with these Rawlings balls that were bought new and can kind of see why people say they're not great. We still use them to play catch.
It sounds like pre COVID, the best deals were used minor league balls on ebay. But those prices have gone up a lot in the last year and aren't a great value. But we have enough to get us by for now until those prices go back down or other decent deals come up.
It's not like they are going to build their own field/fence just for an occasional home run derby fun…
