Why do we need a quarterly reminder for this? how is this a deal, this is a deal site not a reminder site
I've never forgotten to activate a quarterly CB but it's kind of dumb that we have to activate it.
It should just be automatic.
For those out there wondering what's for August and September... it's PayPal and Restaurants 5% CB going on July-Sept ✌

Stacking discounts is a basic deal strategy. Choosing how you pay is part of that. Maybe you need to go back to deal hunting 101.

He meant the site is not supposed to be a reminder site, which is not related to the
101. You get reminders from discover via statements and emails, and it is 2 months away from now.

Why the -1 tho?

Would be super helpful if "Discover" or Discover Card" was in the title.

Any pros and cons on this card? I have a Target Red debit card - but, the 5% on Amazon and Walmart sound interesting and I was wondering if the paypal thing is quarterly are all year?

Now if I can get the chase freedom next quarterly 5%, that would help with the planning.

Double bonus 1st year and quarterly rotating bonuses, should be able to look up what it was for this year. How I remember last year was same categories?

We can sit here and complain about CB offers, but in reality, they could disappear in an instant. If you are already planning to spend the money for the holidays, it's great, but it shouldn't be an excuse to buy things. Also, time value of money - inflation is high and shows no signs of slowing, so 5% is basically a wash of you're buying a $1500 GC to spend throughout the year. To be fair, you could use the CB to get get something like an Apple GC at a small discount from Discover, so maybe you'll be marginally ahead.

if you're lazy like me, just buy $1500 in amazon gift cards to get the full bonus and then go back to your regular rewards card

You think Target and Amazon hiked their prices because Discover is offering their customers $75 bucks? (5% of $1500 max)

Maybe that's true, maybe not, but either way you ARE getting 5% back when you activate this deal. It may be 5% of an inflated price, but it's still better than 0-2% of an inflated price. Hopefully most people on this site are waiting for good deals anyway, not buying at full price.

These websites do not just hike their prices because a card has a 5% CB with $75 back max, in fact these sites do not even pay the CB, it's the CC company I believe. That would make sense if bunch of cards decided to give 5% CB at the same time, which isn't the case.

If you mean general price hike then that has nothing to do with this offer, it's to do with holiday season + major global supply chain constraints and commodity price inflation in China.
