My garage door has a regular old school doorbell button to open/close the garage. Sometimes the wife or kids leave it opened (have a wyze cam in the garage).

Would this work to remotely push that doorbell button? Or does the button have to be flush to the mounting surface? Thanks in advance for any responses.

Needs hub. Wish there was cheaper competition for this. I have now immediate use for it so I'm not in a hurry for one. Good deal tho. TU

This thing is badass. I installed one of these on my breville espresso maker. I have it scheduled to turn on early enough, as I wake up so the coffee machine is all warmed up by the time I am ready to make my espresso shot. It operates over Bluetooth but you can also get a hub (sold separately) that integrates with Alexa. For me I didn't need that just yet so been using it via Bluetooth. I paid full price but getting another one since it's on sale.

Thanks OP for posting this deal 👍

Doesn't require hub, read the god damn description people.

I figure this must be shilled upvoted, and I personally think it's overpriced. I thought this was 10 on prime day but maybe it was also 20 then.

Would get one for my garage door, but not at this price.
Even better with SwitchBot Hub - With SwitchBot Hub Plus/Mini (only support 2.4GHz Wi-Fi), you can control your SwitchBot remotely from anywhere and enable voice control. Works well with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri and IFTTT..

^ I read the description… looks like it required hub to work with Alexa iffft etc.

Yes it is required to use with Alexa but a lot of people seem to just use it over Bluetooth with its app and that does not need hub

Time to Doc Brown the house!

Sounds like we need a hub for remote access tho…?

If its battery dies mid process in button mode, wonder if if might stick open & drive some devices crazy…

Why do that when you can do the same thing with WOL (wake on lan) or most servers have out of band management, like idrac cards for Dell servers?

I have an aquarium light that's controlled only with a touch sensitive pad to do day/night cycle. Thinking I'll rip off those capacitive rubber tips and see if that works so I can be extra lazy!
Fluval Spec V? I have my light on a kasa plugs and it works just fine.

Yes it should work even on those kind of surfaces. At least it did for me. Make sure you let the adhesives sit for 24 hours before using the button to make sure it sticks well. You can test it of course as long as you give it some back pressure for the test so it doesn't pop the 3m tape.

you're better off getting MyQ, or similar product, which often goes on sale for under $20.
