Octane is ~40,000.

I had the 4k OLED screen which is MUCH better calibrated. It only has a little bit of black crush on videos. I don't know about this screen.

Great keyboard and construction on this.

I sold a couple on ebay to people who were going code on them.

I don't do anything like that. I just use high-powered chromebooks like regular chromebooks. Nothing better on the web. Wink

Work? There are quite a bit of startup on Chromebook instead of Windows. Cost to maintain is lower and those guys are pretty run on web apps only and if they do need local apps, Linux/Android apps should supplement it.

These are such nice specs, would have definitely jumped if only we had a choice to install Windows and Ubuntu dual boot instead of being locked into Google.

I am not a genius on this but get Windows onto a 64GB flash drive and boot into it this way. Might run a bit slow though. Just my thought....

This is showing as $550.42 for LifeMart with triple rewards $49. Great deal for a Thinkpad Chromebook. It could be a premium for consumers but depends on how you plan to use it.

Thinkpad quality is awesome in a chrombook, those specs are super powerful as well. Wish we knew if the screen is a bad 45% NTSC or a solid 72% NTSC

A Chromebook for $600 is a bargain? The only notion crazier to me than that is that the original MSRP is over $900. WTF is this world coming to?

Like anything - better performance. Sure, how much better performance can you get when you're basically just running Chrome? Definitely less severe than you'd notice on another OS, but it's not pointless to put good specs in a machine like this. Worth it? Maybe not... but still. After using a Lenovo Duet, I crave a powerful Chromebook - especially with Android apps now. But yeah... still maybe not totally worth it (personally)....

Last I heard, Windows doesn't work that way.

Lots of variations of Linux do though.

Just boot off the external drive, usb, SDcard, etc and you don't even have to mess with the OS that's installed. In case you have issues with Linux or you want to go back to the chromebook.
